Who Gave the Best Female Singer Performance on American Idol?

February 23, 2005 01:05 AM by Joe Blackmon

Last night we asked for comments on how the male singers performed, and tonight we would like to get the same feedback on the female singers.  The judges raved about the performances of a couple singers like Nadia Turner and Aloha Mischeaux, but for the most part called many of the performances safe and predictable.  Here is how Reality TV Magazine ranked the performances.  This one was a tough call, because outside of a couple stand-outs, many of the girls gave close to equal performances.

  1. Nadia Turner
  2. Carrie Underwood
  3. Amanda Avila
  4. Aloha Mischeaux
  5. Vonzell Solomon
  6. Melinda Lira
  7. Mikalah Gordon
  8. Lindsey Cardinale
  9. Celena Rae
  10. Sarah Mather
  11. Jessica Sierra
  12. Janay Castine

I have to be honest, Amanda Avila would be pretty far down that list for me, and Vonzell would be a little higher. What I really thought was terrible, though, was Simon’s comment on the microphone. This show does air a little early for that.

I have to say that I liked Janay’s performance. Although, you could tell she was very nervous. Everyone has their own opinions though, so its all good :).. I also thought Nadia and Carrie did the best. I was kinda shocked that Sarah went home. She didn’t do that well that night, but I figured she would have another chance.
