R U the Girl To Search For New TLC Member

June 07, 2005 11:30 PM by Joe Blackmon

T-Boz & Chilli of TLC head out across the country to search for that one special girl to come along with them as they embark on the next stage of their careers, on the premiere of the summer dramality series R U THE GIRL WITH T-BOZ & CHILLI, Wednesday, July 27 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on UPN.

Blending comedy and reality, these playful and endearing girls set out on a journey filled with emotion, comedy, surprises and special guests to look for that one lucky and talented girl who just might be the perfect fit.  For nine weeks, the girls work closely with the diverse group of aspiring female performers to find the one with the right chemistry who can join them on their next great escapade.

In the live finale, T-Boz & Chilli will pick the winner and she will perform with them for the first time.  The winner will also get to record a single with them.

Four-time Grammy Award-winning TLC was formed in Atlanta in 1991.  They are the biggest-selling female group of all time, riding a blend of pop, hip-hop and urban soul to superstardom during the ’90s with nine top 10 singles on the Billboard Top 100, five of which hit number one, and two number-one albums on the Billboard 200.  With more than 33 million albums sold worldwide, TLC have won numerous awards and have a long list of mega hits, including “Waterfalls,” “Creep” and “No Scrubs.” As TLC was at its peak, tragedy struck when the life of member Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes was unexpectedly cut short.  Now, T-Boz and Chilli are ready for a new beginning for themselves and their fans.

R U THE GIRL WITH T-BOZ & CHILLI is produced by The Jay and Tony Show in association with Fox Television Studios. The executive producers are Jay Blumenfield & Anthony Marsh, Chilli & Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins. Bill Diggins and Laurie Girion ("Last Comic Standing") are co-executive producers.

I AM A HOT 26 year old MAMMA, WITH A NINE YEAR OLD SIDE KICK, SHE ROCKS JUST LIKE ME ” SHE GETS IT FROM HER MAMMA”. WE DANCE IN FRONT OF MY MIRRORED WALLS IN THE LIVING ROOM ALL THE TIME. I dabble in real estate developing. We live in a beautiful 2 story 4 bedroom 3 bath home in a gated community in Stockton, California.
(Hopefully one day by God’s grace I will be able to pay my house off and live free and clear. That would be nice!) I am first and foremost, spiritual, business minded/saavy, fun loving, extremely vocally talented (so I am told),I can dance, I’m in great shape 115 lbs.5′-5″ and pretty (I’m told) mom is ofjamaican
and cuban decent, born in panama. Dad is black, cherokee, german and italian. But when it all boils down to it “I is black” (seems too many people don’t wanna be “just black” anymore, I usually don’t go through the whole gammut anymore when people ask, but I only did so here for the purpose of giving you all an idea of my makeup since you cannot see me.Hoping that you will contact me). So the other night I’m in the gym on the treadmill and I see the trailer for R U the Girl? I get on the computer immediately, only to discover that I have missed the auditions. I have so much more I could tell you about myself,(Like how my husband of only 2 months recently cheated on me with some hoochie skank mamma and how I feel like I have something to prove now-(via stardom, fame,{and No the house is not his it’s all mine I had it before the marriage and we are now divorced} I’ve been holding back from a career in music now for so long in order to put other things 1st in my life. I’ve passed up so many offers while spotted singing in various different night clubs.I am ready to move on with the next phase of my life and pursue my passion for music and hopefully be catapulted into stardom(that will last longer than “15 minutes”) but I’ve already made this message long “enuff”. Is it too late to audition? If so, will you have a second season? I truly believe that you would certainly find it worth your while to meet me and if I am proved to be wrong, then God give me the humility to accept it and move on! Please contact me.
    Sincerely, Alicia PEARL Heleana Gainey.

I’m writing in regards to my son Antonio Pierce AKA Toni P. he’s a 25 year old college graduate, who is a writer and producer so far local, in West Palm Beach, Florida. Toni P. is a great singer who has performed in so many different things, such as many churches, weddings, parties, West Palm Beach soulfest, clubs, etc. he also plays keyboard, string guitar, base guitar, etc. Toni plays by ear and note. He writes and sing, writes gospel,R&B, rap, etc. I think and not just me as his mom but everyone who has ever hard him sing thinks he should be the next and is the next American Idol. He has been in the Palm Beach Post thats the newspaper in West Palm Beach for his singing this year.Toni works at the Inspiration House in West Palm in the music department. Toni P. is a very very very talented young man, who only needs a chance. Just a chance if it doesn’t work out its o.k. I’m only asking for a chance PLEASE. I know your looking for a girl and there is nothing wrong with that. The thing is you may need to change all the way round and try a Guy. Please don’t misunderstand I love your music the way it is but since you want to change, then maybe change and try a guy.
Let me back up a minute and tell you a little something about me. I,m the mother of Three beautiful boys and six grandchildren. I raised my sons as a single Mother. It was hard and its still hard BUT we made it, and we’re fine. Toni P. is the middle of the three boys well young men, I’m still trying to get use to the fact that their not my babies. Toni is the only one of the boys with no children, he lived life by the book. Highschool, college, now career, later, and I mean later marriage (hehe) he’s still single. Oh did I forget to mention that he is also a Jr. Minister, at his church. I resently moved to North Caralino, to give all three boys a chance at life without Mom, I wont’ed to see what they can do without me around, while I’m still alive. Tony has finish college, and he’s still living in West Palm Beach. If your interested in giving him a try out,and since he doesn’t know that I’m writing this, I think it would be better if you contacted the college he attended last year. Palm Beach Atlantic University, In West Palm Beach Fl. His E-Mail address is AntonioPierce@hotmail.com He may get mad if I display his home address and phone number. My E-Mail address is userwarner59@aol.com Posted by Brenda

    P.S. Please give a guy a try.

No one will ever replace Left Eye. Although this may be a good chance for a new person to make it in the music business, I hope TLC wont keep this person as a perminant replacement. I love their music, so do my 2 children, one who is disabled, and I know Lisa fought alot of causes for children who are sick. I know T-BOZ has sickel cell, and know’s what it’s like to have a life of dr’s and hospitals(as my 7 yr old does. I don’t think I could go to a TLC concert with another person standing in LISA’S spot. I would be happy to see the remaining members keep up their promise as to not replace Lisa. I would also hope that they would help with children who have rare disorders as my son’s. I would email them myself if I could and know they would recieve it. I guess that is all I can say. Sorry I wont watch the show, no one is replaceable, if it was not lisa and one of the other members I would feel the same
