John O’Hurley, Joey McIntyre And Kelly Monaco Are The Three Remaining Celebrities On ABC’s “Dancing With The Stars”

June 28, 2005 11:02 PM by Joe Blackmon

Tonight the three remaining couples each dance the Paso Doble and the Foxtrot, as the competition heats up in this fifth installment of ABC’s hit summer dance series. At the end of the show, one more couple will be eliminated, when "Dancing with the Stars" airs WEDNESDAY, JUNE 29 (9:00-10:01 p.m., ET) LIVE, on the ABC Television Network.

At the end of every performance, judges will give each couple a score. Then at the end of the broadcast, viewers will be instructed on how to call in and cast their votes for their favorite couple. The highest scores (from the judges and the audience) will be combined. At the conclusion of each week’s episode, one couple will be eliminated.

Viewers can vote by phone by calling the designated number for their couple for one hour after each show airs, and can also vote online at www.abc.com up until 12:00 midnight, ET Tuesdays, the night before the next day’s live episode.

"Dancing with the Stars" is the U.S. version of the international smash hit series, "Strictly Come Dancing." This version is produced in America by BBC Worldwide. Richard Hopkins (UK) and Conrad Green (USA) are executive producers. Izzie Pick is supervising producer. Alex Rudzinski directs.

This is the best show on TV right now. My husband loves it too. We have be rooting for Kelley Monaco the whole time. What She did last week when She lost Her strap on Her dress was unbelievable.

What a joke. Obviously, the winners were John O’Hurley and Charlotte. They were better in every single dance for all those weeks except the free dance. They were classier, more stylish. Kelly was a slut. She had to have her body parts hanging out. That’s why the perverted men watching voted for her. I won’t be watching any more reality TV. (this is the only reality TV I’ve ever watched.)

In my opinion, John O’Hurley and Charlotte were the most sophicated and the classiest dancers. They were the only reason I was watching. ABC may have to start censoring some of the clothes worn. Thanks for letting me put my two cents in.

I think that the result of the show last night was a fraud. How can you give someone 30 points (a perfect score) when they misstepped (kelly made many mistakes) and then fall on their knees at the end of the dance (Kelly made a flop on her knees at the end). It only proved that the judges would rather see a lot of skin and a replica of pole dancing than true elegant and sophisticated dancing as done by John and Charlotta. They definitely were the better couple in all areas – charm, charisma, chemistry, and in particiular, their dancing techniques.

Never once was the voting of the public explained or any details given. We have no idea what the public total was. AND, the accumulated total of the judges for all weeks definitely was higher for John and Charlotta. The voting was very vague. It left us food for thought on the legitimacy of this contest. Many of my friends feel the same way as I do and we will most likely not watch the show if it continues. It is really not about ball room dancing; it’s about exhibitionism and flimsy costumes.

I was really disappointed and shocked that Rachel Hunter and partner, got voted off early in the show.
She was the best celebrity dancer…go figure!

I was sincerely disappointed in the final episode of “Dancing with the Stars”. It seemed that Kelly more than once stopped dancing altogether and waited for her partner to start the next sequence. Not only that, but she seemed to do more gymastics than dancing. I will probably watch it again, if it returns, but will withhold judgement until I see that the rulebook has been changed.

As a social dancer, and dancer in competitions, I felt the last voting by the judges makes me question their expertise in the field. What Kelly and her partner did in the last dance would fit more appropriately in a gymnastics competition. Their “10″ makes John and Charlotte deserve a “20″! Their display throughout the competition will not cause others to attempt ballroom dancing, but turn and run the other way! Ballroom dancing is elegant, fun, great exercise and you meet wonderful people.

I too think the final judging was a fraud. John and Charlotte were the best dancers all through the series. This is the only reality show I have watched because I thought it was different and entertaining, now I wonder if it was just a put up job as other reality shows. I still loved the dancing, though, and wish we could have more beauty, enchantment and great entertainment, like “dancing with the stars,” on TV once more.

John and Charlotte were clearly robbed!
Their loss represents yet another instance
of the triumph of small-mindedness over art. The judges–and ABC–should be ashamed.

john was decent to apologized to his wife for dancing with other woman. charlotte was doing to much to get on with john. the main reason probably why they lost. kelleys demeanor on judges criticism is humbling and her behavior towards her partner is not being a slot unlike charlotte.

How sad that the ones who should have won lost.
I am so disapointed in the judges choice.
John and Charlotteyou were the upmost best in my book.
The judges were so wrong, so wrong.

I have just read the other postings and must agree with most. A perfect score for kelly was not proper, she did improve over the course of the dancing but John and Charlotte were by far the better dancers, kelly and alex were sexual, John and Charlotte were having a love affair with the dance. there’s a big difference and it’s a shame that they didn’t win. Like most others have noted I don’t do reality TV but this was different, I do watch professional dance when I can and that was the appeal of this show. I just don’t agree with the judges. And I think they were to critical of Joey, he was good, better than kelly.

John O’Hurley was carried by Charlotte. But let’s forget the so-called dance-off. The undeniable winner for the catagory of TRUE CLASS is Kelly Monaco. The undeniable winner of “CRY ME A RIVER” is John O’Hurley. Message to ABC…..if you ever start a show starring John (the Whiner) O’Hurley, count me out.
