The judges continue to take it easy on the rock stars, doling out praise like “awesome”, “fantastic”, and “unbelievable.” We’re ready for things to get a little tougher on the singers and to see some tempers start to flare. It will be interesting to see how the other singers react to J.D. Fortune’s comments after his performance of “Hand in My Pocket.”
After INXS poured the praise on J.D., J.D. responded by taking a shot at his fellow competitors by saying, “while they’re learning the INXS songs, I know them because I love them.” J.D. tried to cover by adding that he didn’t want to diss anyone, but his comments really couldn’t be looked at as anything other than a diss. Maybe J.D. was so caught up in the praise from INXS that he overlooked that INXS gives virtually everyone in the competition over-the-top praise.
Two of the standout performances of the night were consistently great Jordis Unga who performed “The Reason.” Dave Navarro even mentioned that he didn’t like the song until he heard Jordis sing it. Brandon Calhoun also had his strongest performance of the competition with a lively rendition of “Sweet Home Alabama.”
The weakest performance of the night belongs to Deanna Johnston, who just wasn’t into singing “The One I Love.” Reality TV Magazine’s prediction for the bottom three are Deanna Johnston, Tara Sloan, and Heather Luttrell.
