No one can blame Brooke Burke for not giving it her all to help turn around the ratings for Rock Star: INXS. The skirt that Brooke wore during the recent performance show was so short that it inspired some choice comments from Dave Navarro. After Brooke joked that she was having wardrobe envy of Dave and had to kick it up a few notches, Dave quipped back “you could afford to kick up that skirt a few notches, you know what I’m saying.”
Some of the performers are also starting to kick it up a few notches in the competition, while others are crashing and burning. Marty Casey for one has really grown as a singer and will undoubtedly be in the final four. His acoustic performance of “Mr. Brightside” was one of the more memorable performances of the night. MiG Ayesa is also consistently one of the better performers and should definitely be in the final four.
Jordis Unga actually had her first off night of the competition. The song “Layla” just wasn’t right for her, and she seemed to struggle through it. However, if you consider overall performances so far, then Jordis is definitely bound for the top four.
The real question is who will be joining Marty, MiG, and Jordis in the top four. J.D. Fortune, Ty Taylor, and Suzie McNeil are all possibilities. Suzie turned in easily her best performance of the competition with her original arrangement of “Losing My Religion.” However, Ty Taylor rebounded from being in the bottom three last week and gave the performance of the night with “No Woman, No Cry.” Ty should receive the honor of singing the encore during the elimination show. J.D. actually had one of his worst performances, but INXS still seemed to like it. Plus, J.D. keeps things interesting as he once again boasted by saying “I don’t think there’s anybody at this house that wants to win this competition more than I do.”
Jessica Robinson, Deanna Johnston, and Brandon Calhoon will likely be the next three to go. Rock Star: INXS actually shared early viewer voting and these three already look bound for the bottom three this week. It would not be surprising if there is another double (or maybe even triple) elimination. The Rock Star: INXS elimination show airs on Wednesday, August 10, 2005 on CBS at 9:00 PM ET.
