Coryn Eliminated From America’s Next Top Model

October 20, 2005 06:30 PM by Joe Blackmon

Coryn, a Retail Clerk from Minneapolis, became the sixth girl eliminated from the fifth cycle of UPN’s hit series AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL, reducing the pool from 8 girls to 7.  The girls were surprised with a house visit from author and model Iman, who shared organic skin product recipes from her book, The Beauty of Color.  While the girls were excited to try the recipes on their faces, Coryn was less than enthusiastic by commenting, "It feels really gross.  It’s slimy and gooey, you have little chunks everywhere," she said.

Later, the girls were given product message points and challenged to complete a mock interview with comedian Chris Spencer to test their skills as spokes models for the fictitious "ANTM Honey Banana Firming Mask."  Although many of the girls had difficulty mentioning all of their prepared talking points during the interview, Chris felt most disappointed with Coryn’s performance.  "She had no idea what was going on," he said.

The next day the girls got a taste of a supermodel’s hectic schedule as they spent the day completing a photo shoot, commercial, and an interview with "Entertainment Tonight" correspondent Ryan Devlin to promote Secret Platinum Clear Gel.  During the commercial, Coryn stumbled over her lines and had a difficult time getting comfortable.  "As soon as I start off bad, I beat myself up about it," she said.

During the week’s elimination ceremony, the judges noticed a startling sadness in Coryn’s performance during the Secret Platinum Clear Gel press day.  Although they felt that Coryn was extremely beautiful and radiant, the obvious sadness emanating from her overpowered her ability to become a top model.  "The judges felt the need to save you from this crazy cutthroat world of modeling, that would make a sad girl extremely depressed," Tyra said before eliminating Coryn from the competition.

The winner of UPN’s AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL will have the opportunity to be managed by Ford Models.  She will also receive a $100,000 contract with cosmetics giant CoverGirl.  The winner will additionally appear in a fashion spread in Elle magazine and on the cover of ELLEgirl Magazine.

The fifth installment of UPN’s hit dramality series AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL follows 13 young women as they attempt to prove they have what it takes to make it in the high-stress, high-stakes world of modeling.  Banks, who created the show, also serves as executive producer along with Ken Mok ("Making the Band") and Anthony Dominici ("The Amazing Race").  AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL airs Wednesdays (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on UPN.

    Hi, everyone
Im Belinda, 13 of Fl, and im a fan of Coryn from the first episode of Next Top Model. I think the judges voted the wrong girl, Kim from America’s Next Top Model doesn’t even want to be a top model they should’t, have voted her off instead of Coryn. And I think Coryn has potential and would make a fantastic Top Model.

    Sincerely
    Belinda M.

Hey Im Karissa, 17 and from Canada. Im sad to see Coryn go, the other chick shoulda got the boot. I love how Coryn snapped out on Lisa with the “Alcoholic B***h” comment, that was awsome!!!! Lisa shouldnt been in the competition because she drinks way too much and is always putting other girls down when really she has lots of flaws herself… the fact she takes good pix and does well in challenges make the judges love her, but if they seen what a nasty person she is then hopefully they’d eleminate her. Im a big fan of Kyle, shes great … shes flawless, has an awsome personality and has alot of potential…. i hope she wins!

This message goes out to Lisa. You have spirit and lots of energy. Keep doing what you are doing and listen to the judges to what they are saying to you to improve yourself. When you had a bit of down time, I see that was good for you because it made you stronger. Take care of yourself.
