Haircuts On Fear Factor

January 24, 2006 12:01 AM by Joe Blackmon

"YOU COULD GET A REALLY GOOD WIG FOR $25,000!" This new Fear Factor stunt is a cut above the rest. Contestants must put on a brave face when their barber chair spin determines which hairstyle they must get, from mohawks to completely bald, in order to move on to the finals.

The final stunt requires them to climb up a ladder to a ship container on a moving crane over 200 feet in the air.  After they get in the container, teams must connect two live electrical wires that will ignite a massive explosion, blasting the teams through the container wall and into the water below.

This week’s home invasion takes us to Memphis, Tennesse.  Fear Factor airs on Tuesday, January 24, 2006 at 8:00P.M. ET on NBC.

I have one question about the final stunt on January 24′s Fear Factor episode. Remember on the final stunt, how they climbed into the crate to ‘blow it up’ and go flying out into the water? Well, they were attached by some rope system that would keep them from falling directly into the water, obviously to keep the contestants safe.
However, the contestants climbed in through the holes in the top of the crate and then were blown out the side. When the contestants climbed into the crate, you could clearly see the ‘ropes’ going through the holes. However, when the camera pans out, you can see the rope clearly unobstructed, as if the contestants had ‘jumped’ off the top of the crate, or as if the rope somehow went through the top of the crate. My question/comment is how could this happen? The “rope” or whatever it is would have to be wrapped through the crate, right? So, how is this possible?
