The episode starts off with Jodi and Alton talking to each other on the deck. Alton explains that he still worries about the challenges and being a captain with the possibility of facing the gauntlet every challenge. Jodi comments that she really enjoys Alton’s company, he’s great to be around and it doesn’t hurt that he’s hot as well. Alton says he’s really attracted to Jodi but he’s just come off a long relationship so it’s hard, but he really enjoys being around Jodi.
Beth sits with Syrus and talks about the differences in the teams and says Syrus is the only friend she has here. Robin receives the clue to get buck wild and ready to go at 9AM tomorrow. The first challenge is called Buccaneer. One team has to sit on barrels held up in the air by ropes. They have to hold on with just their legs while the other team has to pull at the ropes and try to knock the other team off.
The rookies are up first on the barrels. The vets can’t knock anyone off. David comments his team has absolutely no strategy at all. The vets manage to get no one off so the rookies only have to get one person off to win the 10,000. The rookies follow in the vets’ footsteps, no strategy, just pull on the ropes, and they get no results. No one falls off the barrels. Jodi saves the day and comes up with this bright idea to have some people on one side to pull the rope and then have some on the other side pull with a 3 count in between to form a wave motion. This plan works and big Syrus comes falling down and the rooks take the victory.
Back at the house the vets go to deliberate who is going to go into the gauntlet. Derrick says he can’t decide who he wants in the gauntlet because he likes everyone here. Aneesa comments that the least Syrus could do is step up since he lost it for the team. The votes are in, and Syrus is chosen. The wheel spins onto captain’s choice. To everyones surprise, Derrick picks beach brawl. Everyone is shocked and asks Derrick why he chose that, and Derrick says he might have made a big mistake. Syrus outweighs him by 80lbs so he could be going home.
They oil themselves up and begin. Derrick charges Syrus, pushing him out of the circle. Syrus starts yelling about Derrick starting before the whistle. Second round Derrick pushes Syrus out again, and Syrus complains again. It is now 2-0. Syrus is raging mad at this point and swings Derrick out of the circle. It’s 2-1 down to the final round. Derrick with unbelievable strength picks Syrus up with leverage and literally runs him out of the circle. Derrick takes the win, and everyone is shocked and impressed with his strength. Beth is very sad and disappointed that Syrus is leaving and says she feels like she might not have the strength to go on. Everyone says goodbye to Syrus, Beth is crying.
Everyone goes out to a club, partying and dancing. Jodi and Alton are hanging out. Alton says he sees Jodi and himself having a relationship long after Tebago. They start making out.
Kind of a bland episode tonight, but man the strength on Derrick is unreal, that kid is a bulldog and force to be reckoned with among the guys. Jodi and Alton, I think we all saw this coming, Jodi to me seems like she takes to any guy who will show her attention. Alton, well you’re a lady killer and I can’t be a hater so rock on brother.
