Dancing With The Stars Results Show, Michael Buble To Perform

February 17, 2006 12:01 AM by Joe Blackmon

Michael Bublà "swings" into action on the "Dancing with the Stars" results show, airing FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 17 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network. But wait, there’s more!
In a "Dancing with the Stars" first, host Tom Bergeron will join Master P’s former partner, Ashly Delgrosso, in a heroic attempt at the quickstep.

Setting hearts aflutter through his unique and refreshing interpretation of such classics as "For Once in My Life" and "The Way You Look Tonight," Michael Bubli is well on his way to becoming the new king of swing. This week he serenades audiences on the "Dancing with the Stars" stage with his rendition of "Save the Last Dance for Me" from his latest album, "It’s Time," as professional dancers Alec Mazo and Edyta Sliwinska dance the cha cha. He also accompanies professional dancers Nick Kosovich and Andrea Hale who dance the foxtrot as he sings "Moondance" off his highly successful sophomore album, "Come Fly with Me."

Not to be outdone, in a "Dancing with the Stars" exclusive, host Tom Bergeron will lace up his dancing shoes and showcase his moves. Bergeron has devoted weeks of intensive training to learning the quickstep, and fully appreciates the hard work and dedication the celebrities have undergone in order to pull off their routines. With professional dancer Ashly Delgrosso by his side, we eagerly await his debut performance.

Hosted by Tom Bergeron and Samantha Harris, the "Dancing with the Stars" results show airs Fridays from 8:00-9:00 p.m., ET and features performances by music’s hottest stars, as well as performances from the hottest dance troupes and professional dancers, ranging from salsa to jive to hip-hop.

Celebrities paired with professional dancers perform choreographed routines on "Dancing with the Stars" Thursday nights and are judged by a panel of dance experts — renowned Ballroom Judge Len Goodman, and dancer/choreographers Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba.

The viewing public also weighs in by phoning in or voting online for their favorite performers during the Thursday night performance shows. Viewers may vote up to thirty minutes after the show ends. The judges’ scores and viewers’ scores are combined, and the couple garnering the lowest score is revealed during the results show by Friday evening’s end and eliminated from the competition. One couple is dismissed each Friday until a winner is crowned Sunday, February 26.

This Friday the three finalists will be revealed, as one more couple is eliminated. Tune in to find out who among the following contestants will be sent home and who will dance their way into the finals:

STACY KEIBLER – WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) wrestler, and partner/professional dancer Tony Dovolani.

DREW LACHEY – Recording artist and former member of the pop group 98 Degrees, and partner/professional dancer Cheryl Burke.

JERRY RICE – Three-time Super Bowl champ and considered by many to be the greatest wide receiver to play in the NFL, and partner/professional dancer Anna Trebunskaya.

LISA RINNA – Actress, entrepreneur and host of SOAPnet’s "Soap Talk," and partner/professional dancer Louis van Amstel, who returns to the series from last season.

"Dancing with the Stars" is the U.S. version of the international smash hit series, "Strictly Come Dancing." This version is produced in America by BBC Worldwide. Richard Hopkins (UK) and Conrad Green (USA) are executive producers. Izzie Pick is co-executive producer. Alex Rudzinski directs.

What a disaster. It’s a crime to have Lisa cut when she’s so remarkable more talented than Jerry. I’m incredibly disappointed with the way this is judged. Unless there is a change I’m done watching this.

I am so sad! Lisa and Lou were the best. I sat here with my daughter and balled my eyes out. They were such soul-mates. You don’t feel that with the others. Fan base shouldn’t have so much inpact. What are we scoring here? Talent or fan base?

The judges patronizing comments riled up the fan base, of which Jerry has spent years earning.

I congratulate Jerry Rice on advancing to the semi-finals. He shows in every way what a gentleman he truly is. I’m sorry to see Lisa go. She was truly a good dancer. I would have rather seen Stacey be eliminated. I think the judges are just in awe of her legs. Go Drew

My favorite is (and I voted for) Drew and Cheryl every week BECAUSE THEY WERE GREAT!!After Lisa has come sooo far and made such a fantastic showing on Thursday, I can’t believe she was voted off and Jerry stayed. Anyone who can see knows he’s a dude just taking up space on the show. He’s stiff as a board and any vote he got was fans thru his sports-definitely not for dancing!! I’m finished watching, as should everyone else be!

I am sad and disappointed to see the results of this evenings show. Jerry Rice, no!!! Absolutely not, Lisa and Lou have more style and grace than Jerry, please…I don’t want to watch this anymore. Jerry should have conceded and given it to Lisa and Lou, knowing they were the better dancers….

I am saddened by todays show, Jerry Rice should have conceded and given the opportunity back to Lisa and Lou. They are by far the graceful dancers and more exciting to watch dance. I am not inclined to watch the show after today.

Stacy and Drew and Lisa all have dance background….is this program about someone who has not had dance bkground coming from nowhere to compete or is it about people who have had dance trying to compete with the pros????
In that instance…select amateur dancers to perform with the pro dancers……and forget the contestants with NO experience what so ever!

Jerry Rice should have been eliminated. Is this contest for the best dancers or popular stars. Jerry is a nice guy but not the best dancer

  13. Sissy Hayes Says:

What a crime! Lisa was a far better dancer than Jerry. The producers obviously manipulate the scores for better ratings because Master P stayed WAY too long, he should have been booted off in the first round. I enjoyed watching the show up to this elimination but it was a popularity contest, not a true assessment of talent.

Hats off to Jerry for making it to the semi-finals. That was unexpected. They have all really worked hard and I hate to see anybody voted off at this point.
I predict Drew will take the trophy at the end.

    Very disappointing.

I like Jerry and he sure did improve. But Lisa should be going on not Jerry.
No fair, not fair at all.
This is about the best dancing and clearly Lisa’s was better.
Knowing the gentleman he is he should pass and give it to Lisa.

Lisa wasn’t going to win anyway. Granted Jerry should’ve gone first but the judges should take responsiblity for that mistake. They’re horrible attack on Jerry made his fans fight back and they obviously did a great job of it. The male judges’ LOVE of Stacy has gone too far. She can dance but nothing to oooh and aaaaah over. It’s up to the fans now to pick the best. The judges have lost sight of that.

Congratulations Jerry. Yes you did put in a super effort stepping out of your element, however Lisa by far showed the most improvement and deserved to be going on.
The voting is supposedly balanced between the judges and fans, however I don’t believe we’ve ever been shown how.
Judges…in the future except for comments on the dancing, keep your mouths shut on personal attacks. American’s love the underdog and you can bet some of what you said to Jerry helped get Lisa eliminated.

Any one who watches this show should know by now its how many fans you have not so much who is the better dancer. That is why the little soap star made it so far on the last show she wasn’t the best dancer either. Watch it for fun and vote for who you like and see how far they get. My vote is for Drew of those who are left he has improved the most. Stacey has had dance before and I don’t think being in a boy band and ballroom dancing have anything in common he had a lot to learn.

what a rip-off. I voted for Lisa and Drew. Stacey is fine, but you can tell she has had some sort of training. The producers need to reformulate the voting process again.

  22. Fred Says:
    February 23rd, 2006 at 10:06 am

Although I didn’t vote for either of them, I agree. Lisa was a far better dancer than Jerry.

Jerry obviously got more votes than Stacey. If he gets more votes than her again this week, Drew’s title may be in jeopardy.

    That would be a crime!

    Go Drew!
