In the NBC premiere of the second run of Deal or No Deal, Donald Trump shows up to advise one of the contestants. Peter Montesanti is doing quite well in the game and has worked himself all the way up to a banker offer of $199,000. Host Howie Mandel then asks Peter if he wishes he had an expert to help him make financial decisions. Donald Trump then walks out to the loud roar of approval from the crowd.
Donald Trump initially says at this stage I would probably take the money, but if I’m your age I would say no deal. Peter takes Trump’s advice and says “No Deal.” Peter chooses case #25 which reveals $10. The banker’s offer goes up to $279,000, and Peter’s wife wants him to take the deal. However, Peter says “No Deal.” Peter’s wife screams out “Baby, what are you doing?”
Peter chooses case #21 which reveals $100. The banker’s offer goes up to $359,000. Trump calls Peter over for a consultation. Trump asks Peter “How badly do you need the money?” After Peter answers that you have no idea, Trump advises Peter to “take the money.” Peter takes Trump’s advice and takes the deal. It turns out to be good advice, because when Howie Mandel opens Peter’s final case it turns out to be the $25 case. Peter would have only won $25 if he had played the game until the end.
