Can’t Get A Date Premieres On VH1

For years, the loveless have been forced to wander the dating landscape aimless and alone, making the same mistakes over and over. Finally, that’s about to change. Help is on the way in the form of VH1′s new reality series Can’t Get a Date, which premieres Friday night, April 7th at midnight.
Each episode of Can’t Get a Date focuses on one romantically challenged subject with dating problems ranging from the painfully obvious (foot fungus), the obscure (fear of bicycles) and the everyday (afraid to make the first move). The show’s Host, heard but never seen, strikes a dialogue with the lovelorn subject and, like a modern day Cyrano de Bergerac, offers advice and wisdom from behind the camera. The Host’s perfect blend of humor, support and tough love quickly reveals the subject’s real dating problems.
After the subject’s flaws have been exposed, the reformation begins. It’s not a perfunctory makeover performed by self-proclaimed “experts,” but rather a fun parade of genuine insights from down-to-earth, ordinary people. By using traditional and sometimes nontraditional techniques to tackle the subjects’ issues – hula hooping with fire, hypnosis, even enduring a full body wax – each dating hopeful is challenged to leave their own comfort zone.
This journey takes the audience into a New York that only a few insiders know, like cul-de-sac boutiques in Soho and old Italian barbershops in the East Village. The subject makes a physical transformation before the audience’s eyes, their attitude evolving through interactions with The Host and the helping hands they encounter along the way.
Finally, after months spent overcoming bad social habits and technique, our subject, armed with a new attitude and approach to finding love, goes on an actual date. Will everyone find love in 30 minutes? Well, no. But Can’t Get a Date promises to get them back in the fight. Can’t get a date? Yes, you can.

I just want to say that I have watched four shows already and out of all of them, MYA rocks. I love her. She is so real. Is she going to get her own show? She is funny.

Mya seems to be a reflection of shy sistas everywhere. She continuosly shows an honesty of a young single mother and the struggles of dating in this series. I believe that her show showed an integrity that is not seen on reality TV series lately. I am happy to see some originality and innovation in a TV series and she exudes plenty of personality with her apperance on the show. Her son seems to be on his way ,to stardom as well ,with the vibrant spurts of energy he portrays. Their chemistry together was comical yet inviting to the real life events of a single mother. I hope to see more of Mya in the future. She’s an inspiration to all the single or dateless females in america.

Wow, this show is great, and I loved Mya and her son. She made me feel like I was okay being a single woman that can’t get a date. I wish I could see how she is doing with her dates currently.
