When Synergy returns to the suite, Sean takes heat from his fellow Synergy teammates for defending Andrea. The mood is quickly lightened though when Trump enters the picture and tells the remaining candidates that his hair is real. Charmaine inspects Trump’s hair and confirms that he is telling the truth. For their task, each team is challenged with throwing a grand opening event at a new Hair Cuttery salon. The team that makes the most money wins.
Tammy is the project manager for Synergy. Sean is nervous because he knows if he makes even the slightest mistake that his team is going to blame the loss on him. Allie proves to be the star of the group as she successfully convinces customers to purchase additional hair care product.
Charmaine is the project manager for Gold Rush. Tarek and Charmaine argue over if they should have a theme. Lee also disagrees with Charmaine over working on the shelves and thinks that they should be out marketing the event. The marketing plan consists mainly of Tarek and Lee blanketing cars with flyers, and they spend most of their time making fun of Charmaine. Bill Rancic comes in to observe Charmaine getting her hair done in the middle of the task.
Synergy earns $1005.47, while Gold Rush earns only $700. For their reward, Gold Rush gets to meet and write a song with Burt Bacharach. In preparation for the boardroom, Lee convinces both Charmaine and Tarek that he is on their side.
In the boardroom, Charmaine’s haircut comes back to haunt her, as Bill Rancic points out that she could have used that time working to bring in more customers. Michael gives an eloquent speech on why Tarek should be fired because he is difficult to manage. Tarek makes fun of Charmaine saying she wants everyone to love each other. Trump quips “And you didn’t take advantage of that. You are a schmuck. You’re not a genius.”
After a heated argument between Charmaine and Tarek, Trump says “A leader has to be able to control the people that they are leading, so Charmaine, you’re fired.” As Charmaine gets up to leave, Trump tells everyone to wait one second. Trump says “You really are impossible to be lead, and a great leader also has to know how to be led, and you don’t know how to be led. Tarek, you’re fired.” In the cab ride, Charmaine Hunt & Tarek Saab don’t talk to each other.
