The Apprentice – Will Trump Fire Both Remaining Candidates?

May 29, 2006 11:04 PM by Joe Blackmon

Sean_leeAfter watching the penultimate episode of The Apprentice 5, we started wondering how The Apprentice 5 finale will ever live up to last season’s shocker when Trump tried to hire both Randal and Rebecca, but Randal refused to share the Apprentice title.  Our guess is that Trump might be setting it up to fire both remaining candidates and hire no one.  Both Lee and Sean seem to be encountering major issues with their tasks, and it’s very possible that neither of them will run a successful event.

The penultimate episode kicked off with Trump calling both Lee and Sean to the boardroom and telling them that they are the final two.  Trump asked Lee and Sean to go back to the suite and to each pick three former candidates for their teams.  All the former candidates turned out to be waiting in the suite to surprise Lee and Sean.

Sean chose Tammy, Andrea, and Tarek.  Lee chose Lenny, Pepi, and Roxanne.  Trump assigned Lee and Sean the task of managing two large charity events.  Lee wound up with a Pontiac celebrity hockey event benefiting the Dennis Leary Fire Fighter Foundation, and Sean wound up with a Barenaked Ladies Concert in Atlantic City benefiting the World Wildlife Foundation.  Trump questioned Lee’s judgment in picking Pepi, who was one of the first candidates to get fired.

Sean’s meeting with the World Wildlife Foundation executive went very smoothly, but Lee struggled to come up with ideas that were appealing to the Dennis Leary Fire Fighter Foundation executive.  Lee did manage to convince the Pontiac executives to auction off two cars for the charity event, but the Pontiac executives felt that Lee missed an opportunity by not asking them to match the donations raised.  Tarek and Andrea also convinced a Pontiac executive to donate two cars for Sean’s charity event, but Sean seemed more interested in spending time with Tammy rather than being present for crucial meetings.

Carolyn Kepcher went as far as to say she didn’t like Lee’s laid back approach to running the event.  Liz, the executive for the Dennis Leary Fire Fighter Foundation, became so concerned with Lee running the event that she insisted on getting a walkthrough.  Things also looked bleak for Sean, who lost Andrea from his team, because she was coughing up blood.  Could it be that there will be no one hired to be The Apprentice?

Wow was Lee prepared or what for that meeting!! NOT!! He was saying that the Rep was busting his balls…and so she should. He doesn’t seem very interested in doing it. If Sean can keep focused on the task and stop thinking about where he can put his d**k then I think he is going to win this.

Yeah, this season of The Apprentice has been the worst for me, in terms of talent. None of them stick out as a motivating leader with much creativity, interpersonal skills, or just general intelligence..
How did Lee even get this far? Had he not skipped out on two tasks, I think his bigger weaknesses would’ve been exposed leaving him very vulnerable to be fired. Sean is the best of the two and is a sure bet to win already provided that he doesn’t have a heart attack or get hit by a wayward bus.

I am worried about Andrea. It is really rude to make us wait till the finale to see if she’s OK. This is not a soap opera, these are real live human beings. She is a hard worker and Sean chose wisely. I really hope she’s OK.

I was thinking the same thing after watching this episode. Maybe Trump will fire both of them. But if he did, that would be embarassing! Especially after boasting that he hand picked these apprentices himself.

I’ve been a Lee-fan for most of App5, and hate to see him dropping the ball, but it seems (to me) that he is. Maybe he’s just too young and inexperienced.
Sean, on the other hand, is offending me, and I’m guessing many others, with his high-school-crush (w/ a twist of lime-y) behavior towards Tammy. That’s NOT how we flirt with our be-itches on this side of the pond. Yuck . . . how cheeky!
I’ll stick with Lee . . . just can’t imagine El Donald respecting the all accomodating (butt-kissing) Sean. Sean’s a MOOP!

Don’t see how Trump can fire both even if he wanted to . As posted it would be embarrasing . Looks like Sean will win this thing unless Lee comes up with some really BIG ideas soon . And they would have to be really big because he already has his client extremely anxious and upset . Even making up for it might not be enough .

And HORRENDOUS decision to pick Lenny … Lenny is a disaster and this so-called loyalty thing is going to hurt Lee big-time . Lenny picked Pepi ! I don’t know about Roxanne either but she’s OK and Lenny tried to talk Lee out of picking her . Lenny is a disaster … Oh did I say that already ?

And that ‘what’s up’ on the phone ! How unprofessional .

I just can’t get over how poorly Lee is doing . I have watched every episode and every finale and this is the absolute worst any candidate has performed on a final task .

They all always look like they are in big doo doo at the end of the first part of the final task, but this year seems especially bad. I was thinking the same thing about Trump firing both of them. I thought it was a bad, bad decision on Lee’s part to choose Lenny, but I new he would choose Lenny even before the night started. He loved Lenny, and Lenny is worthless. Whoever said Lenny chose Pepi is absolutely right. That he did. I wonder why Lee is so hung up on that worthless Lenny.

Is it just me or should Sean back off of any relationship with Tammy until after the task. It will effect what was a strong start and with Andrea gone he is going to have to relie on Tarek and Tammy as employees.
After the task Sean and Tammy can do what they want. And I hope they do get together.

How about this for a twist? Lee and that “wack pack” of a team will flounder in the final project. You can see it coming. Sean is going to be so consumed with Tammy, coupled with the fact that Andrea will be sick and useless, so…. Tarek will ultimatley lead that team to victory. All of the sponosors will praise Tarek so Trump will have no choice but to Fire Sean and Lee and hite Tarek!

I agree with you Shocker!! Lee, so far, is doing a terrible job. Just the same as Sean is too busy worrying about his love life to notice he is suppose to be putting on an event! Seems Tarek is stepping up and taking over. Good on him!!! I vote for Tarek!!!

Why should Sean wait to develop his relationship with Tammy? People do this in the workplace all the time. So, just because he’s on a TV show, he should not do what MOST people do at work. Get over yourselves!

And who’s saying Sean is the suck-up and Lee is not? Have you been watching the same show as the rest of us.

And Lee should’ve let Lenny go the first time he mentioned Pepi. Not to mention the fact that he dissed every person Lee named except Roxanne. THAT should have been a sign of bad things to come! After all, Lee only supported Lenny before his firing out of loyalty. Lee knew good and well that Lenny was in the wrong. So why chose this guy to be your #1? A dog’s loyal, but I wouldn’t chose a dog to be my second in command during the most difficult task in my career.

Andrea should fess up and admit that she does too much coke and it’s blown her nasal passages. She’s not coughing up blood, she’s coughing OUT blood — from her nose. This is why she’s so skinny.

Eh, because it’s stupid and wrong………..people deal drugs all the time and it doesn’t make it right (you must be a woman who’s enamored with her male boss, so get over YOURself).

He’s screwing up and should NOT be making his decisions with the wrong head. Bottom line, a shot with Trump is on the line and he should be running like hell toward it and not stopping off for a “quickie”.

By the way. “MOST” people aren’t fortunate in being in line for a spot with Trump, you halfwit.

I will agree with you that people do it all the time, but only an idiot would do it as they are preparing for the single most important event in their life!

Why doesn’t he put his balls on hold and finish the damn task that’s ahead of him… then he can f*ck his untalented gf all he wants!
