American Idol Finalist Kellie Pickler Gets Picked For A Record Deal

Another American Idol 5 finalist has signed a record deal. Joining Taylor Hicks, Katharine McPhee, and Chris Daughtry is Kellie Pickler. Kellie announced her deal while serving as a co-host on The View on Monday, July 17, 2006. Kellie Pickler is twenty years old and finished sixth during the American Idol 5 competition. Kellie said, “I’ve always dreamed of getting a record deal so now my dream has come true! I’m really excited about making my first album and giving something back to the fans who supported me on American Idol.
Kellie Pickler was an early favorite of judge Simon Cowell. After seeing Kellie audition for the first time, Cowell remarked “”that’s a nice girl..that’s someone that I would like to see do well.” In addition to her singing talent, Kellie also entertained viewers with her comedic skills on the show. During the American Idol finale, Kellie performed with Wolfgang Puck in a skit called Puck N’ Pickler.
Kellie Pickler signed on board with Nashville label Sony-BMG which is the same record label that signed American Idol 4 winner Carrie Underwood. On Pickler joining the label, SONY BMG Chairman Joe Galante said, “We are very excited to have signed Kellie. The recognition she received from Idol is a huge advantage in launching a new artist and her sense of humor and humility are endearing. It’s not very often when someone with that personality and talent comes along and she will bring instant attention to her music and our format.”
Kellie will have a single on country radio in September and her debut album will be coming out on November 14. Kellie is currently on the American Idols Live! Tour 2006 and will record the album in between tour dates.

i could not be happier with this news. I saw her in concert on Sunday she is amazing, beautiful everything, she is the whole package. Us Pickler fans have something to talk about:) i can not wait to hear the music:) Love you girl you are amazing

This is thrilling news! Kellie was my personal favorite this year, she was sweet, innocent, with a golden voice and I thought she did great for someone with so little experience. She will never replace in my heart Carrie Underwood, who is triple platinum and showed what a failure and loser that Bo Lice was with his flop album, but I will be one of the first to buy her single and record. She was a breath of fresh air on this show, her stories made me laugh, she has a genuine heart and it showed. How that shrieking banshee Katherine McPhoney got ahead of her I will never know, but this is great news! Thank you, Kellie, for all the joy you gave me this season- in a year full of no-talents like Chris Daughtry and Ace Yuck and Manatee, you stood out like a shining star!!

Where is record deal for elliott?!! It’s true Kellie has a bigger fan base, but it’s only in America. They should’ve think about selling it all over the world. Pickler’s cd in my pocket? c’mon, you gotta be kidding me..

hey carlo v u suck! kellie is IDOL MATERIAL! she’s definitely gonna shine! she’s not just big in USA but also here in ASIA. almost 60% are kellie fans!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and to my 2nd home ,in Europe! she’s really BIG! im telling you! she’ll shine like Jewel….
