Rock Star Supernova – Blue Spandex, Bite Marks, & Boot Marks

July 25, 2006 09:06 PM by Joe Blackmon

Zayra_bluespandexAt the Rock Star mansion, Gilby Clarke plays some brand new Supernova tracks for the aspiring rock stars.  To kick off the show, Lukas Rossi performs “Bittersweet Symphony” by The Verve.  Tommy Lee says “That’s exactly how I would have done that song.”  Jason Newsted says “I’m waiting for you to open up your throat.”  In an outfit as memorable as Brooke Burke’s short skirts and pajamas from last season, Zayra Alvarez wears a blue spandex spacesuit.  Zayra performs “Call Me” by Blondie.  Dave Navarro says “My recommendation for you is to get started on a solo career right now.”  Tommy Lee says “The last time I saw an outfit like that I woke up with bite marks and boot marks all over me.”

Dana Andrews performs “About A Girl” by Nirvana.  Dave Navarro says “You are finally looking damaged enough to be a rock singer.”  Jason Newsted says “That was my favorite performance you’ve done yet.”  Patrice Pike performs “Remedy” by The Black Crowes.  Dave Navarro says “I’m just not seeing anything different here and frankly I’m getting bored.”  Gilby Clarke says “Do something, this is your warning.”  Toby Rand performs “White Wedding” by Billy Idol.  Jason Newsted says “That was the best performance we’ve seen from you yet on this show.”

Magni performs “Heroes” by David Bowie.  Gilby Clarke “There’s a right way and there’s a wrong way.  I just thought that one was the wrong way.”  Ryan Star performs “I Alone” by Live.  Dave Navarro says “That was truthfully your best performance yet.”  Gilby Clarke says “For the first time I saw something that I hadn’t seen from you before.”  Jill Gioia performs “Brown Sugar” by The Rolling Stones, and Gilby Clarke joins her on stage.  Gilby Clarke says “The only thing that bothered me was the grinding thing.”  Dave Navarro says “If this was my band, we would be grinding for hours on end.”

Phil Ritchie performs “One Headlight” by The Wallflowers.  Tommy Lee says “I’m just wondering if everyone could deal with that for an hour and a half show.”  Jason Newsted says “If the wobble is instilled, then I’m worried.”  Dilana performs “Time After Time” by Cyndi Lauper.  Dave Navarro says “It kind of doesn’t matter what you do, you tear it up, you strip it back, I get chills every time.”

Josh Logan performs “No Rain” by Blind Melon.  Tommy Lee says “That was a really challenging song for Mr. Soul Man.”  Storm Large performs “Anything, Anything” by DramaRama.  Dave Navarro says “There’s nothing sexier than seeing a hot chick dive head first into an audience full of people.”  Jason Newsted says “I don’t have anything bad to say today, just awesome.”  The bottom three in the early voting results are Josh Logan, Jill Gioia, and Zayra Alvarez.  Will the blue spandex be enough to save Zayra?  Probably not, she’s been in the bottom three several times, so look for Supernova to send her home if she winds up there again.

Rock Star Super Nova Recap 7-25-06

What a night! Its another installment of Rock Star: Supernova, and there were surprises galore! First, I must give props to the lovely and talented Brooke Burke, who was rocking a dynamic Greek Goddess dress [Note to self: pick up toga from cleaners]. …

RS:S: Drawn and quartered for this…

Preview of this… Lukas takes us down the only road he’s ever been down. Zayra is a superhero in disguise and you can call her anytime. Dana needs an easy friend. Will you let Patrice show you what she means?

I agree. There’s others i like, like Lukas and Storm, but they pretty much sound the same all the time. But Dilana shows she can do ANYTHING; from her manic “Lithium” to her mesmerizing “Time After Time”. She just can’t go wrong.

Dilana is a goddess. Toby is fabulous. I think it will (should) come down to those 2.

I don’t get the Lucas love, sorry, but his gianormous cranium is distracting, coupled with his “straining to poop, but needing more fibre in his diet” vocals.

Whichever producer picked Zayra, Phil and Ryan for this competition, should be fired.

My prediction is that Tommy and company will send all three bottom three packing tonight. He will do this to prove the is a serious rocker and not some lame ass has-been. Yup a three way massacre or maybe some other Tommy style 3way.

So buh-by Josh, Jill and Zayra. Too bad it won’t be that other poser “bobble head doll” Phil.
