On the last episode of Big Brother, Janelle won power of veto and took herself off the block, which forced Danielle to nominate Kaysar to take her place. On this episode, Kaysar campaigns to various houseguests. Erika says she doesn’t know if her vote would make a difference, Chicken George won’t reveal how he is going to vote but tells Kaysar that he is a really good guy, and Mike Boogie pretends to go along with Kaysar’s suggestion.
In the Big Brother family segment, Julie Chen introduces the mothers of Mike Boogie and Dr. Will. Will’s mom Judy reveals that even as a little boy that he was always plotting and planning. Mike’s mom Bonnie reveals that he was chubby little boy but lost weight when he joined a speed skating team.
In a private conversation, Julie Chen asks Danielle if there is any member of her alliance that she can trust, and Danielle says James. In the live eviction ceremony, Julie asks James and Kaysar if they have anything to say to their fellow houseguests. James thanks America for putting him back in the house and asks the houseguests to vote the way that will help them individually the most. Kaysar also thanks America and tells the houseguests to vote the way they think is best.
In last week’s head of household competition, James won the power to cancel an eviction vote of one of the houseguests. James uses his power to cancel Janelle’s vote. Marcellas, Erika, Dr. Will, Chicken George, and Mike Boogie vote to evict Kaysar. Howie and Janelle vote to evict James. Because Janelle’s vote was canceled, Kaysar is evicted by a vote of 5 to 1. The eviction occurs ironically on Kaysar’s birthday.
Julie Chen asks Kaysar if it was difficult to be up against his friend James, and Kaysar says yes that he didn’t want to campaign against him. Julie Chen then reveals to Kaysar that James is in an alliance with Chill Town and Danielle called the Legion of Doom. Julie also tells Kaysar what James said about Janelle, “This Anna Nicole Smith wannabe is probably the dumbest person to ever play the game.”
During a replay of the week’s events, the ghosts of former houseguests are shown removing items from the house. Danielle leads a sÃance which calls up the ghosts of Bunky, Alison, Josh, Holly, and Eric. For the head of household competition, Julie Chen asks questions about the sÃance. Any houseguest who answers the question incorrectly is eliminated. If everyone answers the question correctly, then the slowest to answer is eliminated. During the HOH competition, there appear to be some technical malfunctions, which affect the outcome of the game. Erika eventually wins the competition.
After the HOH competition, Julie Chen explains a new twist in the game called the Coup d’Etat. In the next three eviction episodes, the winner of the Coup d’Etat will have the ability to overthrow the head of household and replace nominations on the spot right before the voting takes place. However, only the winner of the power will know what the power is until it is used. Julie Chen doesn’t reveal what the power is to the houseguests, but tells them that they will be given clues to a well-known phrase that applies to the Big Brother game. The first person to correctly guess the phrase wins the new power. The first clue is a lamb wearing a pink bow.
