On the Treasure Hunters Finale, the Geniuses reach the hidden chamber first, but they are unable to decipher the cryptex. As the Geniuses sit around in frustration, the Southie Boys and the Air Force catch up and join them in the hidden chamber. All three teams spend several hours trying to solve the cryptex. Francis on the Genius team suddenly has a revelation and enters “FSKEY” into the cryptex. The cryptex opens and reveals a metallic spinner which fits on one of the stone tablets on the ground.
The Geniuses give the spinner a spin and it points to a star. Francis hits a star emblem on the wall and a secret door opens up revealing a hidden room. When the Geniuses enter the hidden room, they find a huge stack of gold coins. At first they think it is just one more step in finding the real treasure, but Host Laird MacIntosh calls the Geniuses and tells them that they have found the treasure.
All the Treasure Hunters teams return to join Host Laird MacIntosh live in studio. Laird introduces a segment with the ten winners of the online Genworth Financial Treasure Challenge competing for a $100,000 prize. Scott Gray, who is a 27 year old environmental scientist from Brandon, MS, wins the $100,000 prize. To cap off the Treasure Hunters Finale, Laird reveals the value of The Geniuses treasure – a staggering three million dollars.
