“Temple your show has been cancelled,” said host Clive Pearse. The former Miss Utah, with no design experience made it this farâ⬔besting even those with Harvard Design degreesâ⬔to last 5 rounds but got knocked out this episode.
In this week’s design challenge, each designer was given one color to redesign a New York City apartment with only $2000, the help of a carpenter, and all within 24 hours. Each designer demonstrated their hosting skills, as they would if they won their own show on HGTV and gave a tour of the color-themed pad.
The celebrity judges were very critical at this stage of the game. They were disappointed in David’s use of space in his design and critical of his hosting abilities. But in the end Temple’s mellow yellow apartment was just too plain, and the judges sent her packing.
The next episode of HGTV Design Star airs on Sunday, Aug. 27 at 9pm ET/PT. Be sure to tune in for an emotional episode in which makeovers are won by 3 extremely deserving families: one whose father is serving in Iraq, the home of a woman who lost her home and all of her belongings in Hurricane Katrina, and one other family. The designers are competing for spots in the final two!
