A Surpristing New Twist On The Amazing Race 10

October 15, 2006 09:02 PM by Joe Blackmon

Peter_sarah_argueFor the fifth leg of the Amazing Race 10, teams started by taking a train to Hanoi, Vietnam to purchase airline tickets to Chennai, India.  Teams had to book their flights at a travel agency before going to the airport.  At the airport, several teams found out that Erwin & Godwin had managed to find an earlier flight than everyone else.

David & Mary and Lyn & Karylyn changed their tickets to the earlier departing flight, but they could not get a confirmed seat on the connecting flight.  Taking the chance paid off for Lyn & Karylyn who caught the connecting flight, but it wound up costing David & Mary who had to settle for a later connecting flight.

In India, teams traveled to an arts and crafts store in Mamallapuram.  At the arts and crafts store, teams received a detour choice between “Wild Things” or “Wild Rice.”  In “Wild Things,” teams had to secure and transport a crocodile.  In “Wild Rice,” teams had to use a specially colored powder to recreate a picture.  On the way to the detour, Dustin & Kandice had a flat tire, and Peter & Sarah gleefully passed by them.

After completing the detour, Peter & Sarah exchanged harsh words after barely missing a bus to the next destination.  Peter said “Remember it’s just a game, we’re just having fun.”  Sarah replied “I’m not really having fun with you Peter, I’m not.”

For the roadblock, teams had to take a pass a driving test at the Karthick Driving School   After completing the driving test, teams had to drive to the Chettinad House, which was the pit stop for this leg of the Amazing Race.  Peter & Sarah arrived in first place, Dustin & Kandice arrived in second place, Rob & Kimberly arrived in third place, Erwin & Godwin arrived in fourth place, Lyn & Karylyn arrived in fifth place, and Tyler & James arrived in sixth place.

David & Mary were the last team to arrive, but it turned out to be a non-elimination leg of the Amazing Race.  In a surprise twist, David & Mary did not lose all of their money and possessions which is customary for a team that finishes in last place on a non-elimination leg.  Instead, David & Mary must finish in first place on the next leg of the Amazing Race or they will receive a thirty minute penalty.

I absolutley hated the arrogant, superficial comments made by Kimberly in Chennai while in the bus about Indians– that she could smell them. What a racist she is! Now wonder American tourists are hated everywhere.

    Dislike

    1. Freddy & Kendra 2-Rob doesn’t want to talk to foreigners and his girlfriend wants to be with white rich folks. If these mactors are delusional if they think the racist comments is going to further their acting career.

    2. The male models-The whole “we’re recovering drug addicts” spiel is getting old. Wake me up when Erikka’s team gets a new personality!

    3. Peter- I don’t blame the barbies for ditching this jerk. Even his chewing annoys the heck out of me.

They should make it a rule that whoever makes a racist comment gets a 30-minute penalty. Kimberly is really getting on my nerves and should keep her mouth shout unless smart words come out it. When they showed a cow on the sidewalk by itself, I believe it was Kimberly who said it was a “homeless cow”.

I don’t get why people are hating the beauty queens for not wanting to help the other teams.

In poker, you don’t show your hand to the other players. In baseball, the pitcher doesn’t tell the hitter what pitch he will throw.

Besides, who wants to help Peter at this point in the game – especially since he has finished in 1st place in the last two legs.

Well because of karma, but the beauty queens have “cheated” before when they went to Vietnam (I think) where Tom and Terry were forming lines to buy plane tickets and the beauty queens got in the way and took their turn.

Peter is a real jerk! He has not extended a hand or offered any help at all to Sarah. I mean the kind of help any good person would extend to a companion, friend, or just another person. I think he was just lazy and selfish when he told Sarah she had to pull herself up the (whatever) because she had upper body strength. Sarah has a lot of things–Peter is just an unthoughtful, selfish, yelling jerk. Sarah, get rid of him fast.

There is nothing wrong with being competitive. However, butting heads with every team is going to hurt Team Barbies in the long run-especially with the Yield coming up.
