In the aftermath of the last tribal council, Jessica expressed concern to her fellow Aitu tribe members that no one had clued her in on the fact that they were voting off Cao Boi. Nate, who had been kidnapped by Aitu as part of a twist in the game, quietly listened to his temporary tribe’s discussions and gathered information to take back to the Raro tribe.
Both the Aitu and the Raro tribes received Survivor catalogs from which they could select two items that they would receive if they won the reward challenge. For the reward challenge, the tribes competed in a combination swimming and puzzle challenge. The Aitu tribe won the reward challenge and received a bag of potatoes and peanut butter.
As part of winning the reward challenge, Aitu was allowed to send one member of the Raro tribe to Exile Island, and they selected Adam. Also, Nate was allowed to return to the Raro tribe. While enjoying the peanut butter, Candice told the Aitu tribe that “I’m in love with everybody that I can see right now. Anybody wants a kiss just come over here.” Jessica took Candice up on her offer, and they shared a peanut butter kiss.
For the immunity challenge, the tribes competed in a combination staircase building and puzzle challenge. The Raro tribe won the immunity challenge. Before tribal council, several members of the Aitu tribe discussed voting off Jonathan because they didn’t trust him. At tribal council, Jeff Probst pointed out that there was at least one member of each the original four ethnic group tribes remaining in the Aitu tribe. Despite the plotting against Jonathan, the eighth person voted off Survivor Cook Islands was Jessica Smith.
