November 04, 2006 12:01 AM by Joe Blackmon

From NBC’s "Last Comic Standing" to the laugh channel itself, Texas funny man Ralphie May is larger-than-life, rocking the mic with his trademark southern sass in an all-new, stand-up special.  The World Premiere of "Ralphie May: Girth of a Nation" debuts on COMEDY CENTRAL Saturday, November 4 at 11:00 p.m.

From the Tennessee Theatre in Knoxville, Ralphie May rules the stage with his signature no-holds-barred comedy, sharing his opinions on everything from his love for "midgets" to the reason the term "retard" should be reevaluated.  Plus, be sure to catch May’s hilarious impressions and thoughts on American society and pop culture.  It’s an all-new hour of comedy viewers won’t want to miss!

Ralphie May’s popularity exploded after the success of the first season of NBC’s hit reality series "Last Comic Standing."  His first DVD, "Just Correct," went platinum after its release in 2004.  May has worked as an actor, writer and producer on ESPN’s "Mohr Sports," starring comedian Jay Mohr, and has had multiple appearances on "The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn" and "Jimmy Kimmel Live."  In an appearance on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," May received a standing ovation following his performance, making him the first comedian in 10 years to receive this honor.
