Cops Reaches 650th Episode

December 30, 2006 12:01 AM by Joe Reality

When Officer Kevin Berardinelli of the Gwinnett County, GA, Police Department arrives at a residence, blood-curdling screams are heard. As other members of law enforcement attempt to get the situation under control, the victim assaults one of the officers and is subsequently stung by a Taser.

Another segment features Officers John Campor and George Godfrey of the Las Vegas, NV, Metropolitan Police Department, responding to a call regarding a family dispute. At the scene, the complainant claims his father is drunk, throwing rocks and threatening him with a knife. The father claims his son has been smoking crack all night and the officers are left to interview other family members in order to determine who is causing all the commotion on COPS: COAST TO COAST Saturday, Dec. 30 (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

The pioneering reality series reaches its 650th milestone episode with segments featuring Taser guns, heroin hidden in unexpected places and naked burglars. Officers Derrick Pendergrass and Sgt. Barry Burns of the Chattanooga, TN, Police Department follow a vehicle that was reported stolen. When the officers try to pull him over, the driver takes off on a high-speed chase.  Eventually, the chase concludes and when the suspect begins to dig in his pockets, the officers become alarmed and subdue him with a Taser gun.

Also featured is Sgt. Craig Campbell and other officers from the Pittsburgh, PA, Bureau of Police, who detain a vehicle carrying three young males. Illegal substances are apparently found inside their car and then it’s discovered that two of the suspects have hidden needles and/or heroin in a body cavity on a special edition of COPS: COAST TO COAST airing Saturday, Dec. 30 (8:30-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
