Carrie Underwood Is NOT Dating Dallas Cowboys Quarterback Tony Romo

No, American Idol winner Carrie Underwood did not break up with Dallas
Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo because he muffed the hold on a critical field
goal during a playoff game against the Seattle Seahawks. It
turns out that Carrie Underwood and Tony Romo were never even dating to
begin with. Tony Romo apparently made a joke about dating Carrie
Underwood to the Illinois Times-Courier newspaper, and other newspapers
and magazines across the nation picked it up and reported on it as
fact. Of course, Carrie Underwood did give Tony Romo a hug before a
Dallas Cowboys game on Christmas day so it’s easy to see how the
comment seemed credible.
Before an ASCAP party in Nashville to celebrate her back-to-back number one songs “Don’t Forget To Remember Me” and “Before He Cheats,” Carrie Underwood set the record straight to Nashville media. In regards to Tony Romo, Tennessean columnist Beverly Keel quoted Carrie Underwood as saying, “I have read some of the most ridiculous things about that. The first time I ever met him was on Christmas, right there on the field. Everybody was like, ‘Ooh, they are together.’ And then I was blamed for Dallas not winning that game. . . . He is a very nice guy and I’ve talked to him a few times, but we are very much not together.”
Carrie Underwood went on to talk about how it was reported that sources said she met Tony Romo on Thanksgiving, but Carrie said that she had no clue who he was at that time. In addition to denying the Tony Romo rumors, Carrie Underwood also said the press had incorrectly reported on her weight loss and products she uses.
