American Idol Helps Drive Fox To Highest Rated Week For Any Network In Almost A Year

The return of FOX’s powerhouse shows AMERICAN IDOL and 24 led the
network to win the week among virtually all key demos while delivering
the highest-rated week on any network in 11 months. FOX also posted
the highest rated week among Adults 18-49 (with entertainment
programming) on any network in nearly 4 years.
On Tuesday, the season premiere of AMERICAN IDOL 6 delivered the show’s highest rated premiere EVER among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34 and Total Viewers. The launch was also FOX’s highest rated premiere EVER among Adults 18-49 and Total Viewers. IDOL is up compared to last year’s 1/17/06 premiere by +3% among Adults 18-49, +1% among Adults 18-34, +3% among Teens and +5% among Total Viewers. The show also delivered its second-highest rated telecast EVER among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34 and Total Viewers, behind only the American Idol season 2 finale on 5/21/03.
In fact, Tuesday’s AMERICAN IDOL beats the second-highest rated program of 06/07 by +44% among Adults 18-49 (Grey’s Anatomy premiere), +38% among Adults 18-34 (Grey’s Anatomy premiere), +124% among Teens (Desperate Housewives premiere) and +30% in Total Viewers (BCS Championship game).
The Wednesday premiere of AMERICAN IDOL 6 delivered its highest rated Wednesday premiere ever among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34 and Total Viewers. AMERICAN IDOL-WED is up compared to last year’s 1/18/06 Wednesday premiere +19% among Adults 18-49, +16% among Adults 18-34, +10% among Teens and +17% among Total Viewers.
Wednesday’s AMERICAN IDOL premiere displayed remarkable retention of its Tuesday premiere performance, maintaining 98% of the Adults 18-49 Rating (15.5 vs. 15.8), 100% of the Adults 18-49 Share and 99% of Total Viewers, which far exceeds last year’s retention.

The think these rating are over rated abd I do not believe that all those people would watch the three ass holes that are judges,,,
