Jamie Lynn Ward, More On Her Tragic Story And Her American Idol Dream
January 31, 2007 12:41 AM by Joe Reality
Jamie Lynn Ward from Reidsville, North Carolina told perhaps one of the
most tragic background stories ever told on American Idol. Before her
American Idol 6 audition, Jamie Lynn revealed that she lived with her
grandmother, so that she could help her grandmother take care of her
dad who is paralyzed.
The saddest part of the story came though when Jamie Lynn Ward told the American Idol judges that her dad had actually shot himself and also his wife. Jamie Lynn pointed to just below her throat to show the judges where her dad had shot himself.
For her Birmingham audition, Jamie Lynn sang “Reflection.” After Jamie Lynn’s audition, Paula Abdul said “You have a very pretty voice when you’re not powering through and you have a tendency to go a little bit nasally, but then when you sing naturally, it’s very sweet, very pretty.” Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson both agreed with Paula Abdul. Even though Simon said that he would have said no, both Randy and Paula said yes and put Jamie Lynn through to Hollywood.
Reality TV Magazine did some research in Jamie Lynn’s hometown paper the Reidsville Review to get more details on her story. It turns out that Jamie Lynn has been dreaming of taking part in American Idol for a long time. A June 2005 article in the Reidsville Review talks about Jamie Lynn making the finals of a local competition called Triad Idol.
A February 2006 article in the Reidsville Review talks about the incident where her father shot his wife and himself. A October 2006 article in the Reidsville Review reveals that Jamie Ward was crowned 2006 Rockingham County High School homecoming queen.

Another Kelly Pickler whining on about her tragic life. Just sing and gimme a break with the sob stories please!

Yes, her story is sad but she’s OBVIOUSLY a Kellie Pickler wannabe. It appears to have gotten her through a couple of rounds, but I think her piggy-backing on Kellie’s publicity will end soon.

I dont think she is “piggy-backing” anyones story. If you dont think that she’s been through alot and this hasnt changed her life dramatically, well your just stupid. Which I can already tell by what you posted, that you really are a dumbass. There is such a thing as compassion, but it seems you have none. I hope this happens to someone in your family, and please dont shed a tear or talk about to anyone when it happens. Because from your point of view, you would want people to give you something, maybe compassion. So all I have to say is STFU!
