Brian Miller Gets A Second Chance On American Idol 6

February 01, 2007 02:35 AM by Joe Reality

Brian_millerBrian Miller is nineteen years old and is from Placentia, California.
Brian auditioned for American Idol 5 last year, and he made it to
Hollywood week, before being cut by the judges.

For his American Idol 6 Los Angeles audition, Brian Miller sang “A Change Is Going To Come.”  Simon Cowell said “Nice looking guy, nice voice, forgettable.”  When Brian asked Simon if he had improved since last year, Simon snapped back, “I can’t remember you.”

Randy Jackson said “You know what, based on the voice, I’d say yes.”  Olivia Newton-John said “I like your voice, and I think you’ve got a real sweetness about you, and you sing really in tune, so I say yes.”  Paula Abdul also said yes, but Simon Cowell said no.  The three yes votes from the judges were enough to send Brian to Hollywood.

Honestly I didn’t think he was great. The voice seemed practiced and commercialized. Maybe it’s because I remember Taylor’s version so well and his voice is nothing close to “commercial”; it’s pure soul.

And I don’t remember him from H’wood last year either…..even after they showed a clip of him.

I remember this guy from last year. He was cocky, about 15 pounds heavier and conceited. He got the wind knocked out of him in Hollywood and hopefully learned a valuable lesson.

    We’ll see how he does.

He sounded like a woman to me when he sang. I would not doubt if he dressed up like a woman and sang in bars on the weekend, which is an abomination to the Lord. Haven’t these she-men like Clay Aiken done enough harm to this franchise? From what I’ve read recently, Aiken is supposedly still trolling the internet for gay sex encounters. Go back to morality, America!

What hasn’t been much reported is that Brian was a high school classmate of past finalist John Stevens. I took classes with Brian, although he is a year older than I am, and while I didn’t hear him sing much, I can say that he’s a really nice guy who loves music for itself – he’s not just there for fame and fortune.

I will only nod for the bad comment. Poor little he-think-he-is-cute…

I thought Brian Miller was fantastic and that he was robbed! He should be in this year’s Top-24! I can’t believe they passed up a guy like Brian who has such an amazing voice for this bunch of boy band wannabees. Good luck to Brian in his future endeavors.

    Sing your heart out, kid!

i think he should have been at the top with the others. i loved he’s voice it was amazing.no one should have took him off,and if someone was in his shoes then they would feel the way he felt. he tryed really hard and to make everone happy but they didn’t care of course.
