Fantasia To Perform On American Idol Results Show
February 21, 2007 01:33 PM by Joe Reality
AMERICAN IDOL Season Three winner Fantasia will perform live and make a
special announcement on the AMERICAN IDOL results show Thursday, Feb.
22 (8:00-9:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) on FOX. After winning AMERICAN IDOL in May 2004, Fantasia was signed to Simon
Fuller’s 19 Recordings, which released her album through Clive Davis’
SonyBMG.
Her debut single “I Believe” marked the first time in Billboard Hot 100 chart history that an artist went straight to No. 1 with his or her inaugural single. This led to the arrival of Fantasia’s RIAA platinum debut album, “Free Yourself,” in 2004. Fantasia has garnered more than 20 award nominations from the Grammy Awards, American Music Awards, Vibe Awards, Soul Train Awards and Soul Train “Lady of Soul” Awards, Billboard Music Awards and R&B and Hip-Hop Awards, BET Awards, NAACP Image Awards and Teen Choice Awards.
Her success culminated in a New York Times best-selling autobiography, “Life is Not a Fairy Tale” (Simon & Schuster, September 2005), a candidly revealing memoir that was adapted as a Lifetime original movie in August 2006. Most recently, Fantasia worked with music greats Missy Elliot, Big Boi, OutKast, Dre, Vidal and Swizz Beatz on her self-titled album, “FANTASIA,” which was released last Dec. 12.
Twenty-two-time Emmy-nominated AMERICAN IDOL is created and executive-produced by Simon Fuller, founder of 19 Entertainment; and executive-produced by Cecile Frot-Coutaz, CEO, FremantleMedia North America, Inc.; Nigel Lythgoe, President, 19 Television; and Ken Warwick, Executive Producer, FremantleMedia North America, Inc.

So Floptasia is going to sing? How is that a treat? Her album has bombed and she is desperate for publicity but nothing can save that disaster of an album. I’m praying that the big announcement from her is that she is finally going to get married and give that child of hers a normal family life. Stop living in sin, America! Go back to morality!
I was hoping that Kellie Pickler or Carrie Underwood would sing- the last thing I want to hear is Floptasia screeching out some skanky ghetto song like the atrocious “Hood Boy” on stage, something our kids should NOT be exposed to. At least the contestants can hear up close what they should NOT be doing. That is a lesson all in itself.

Kellie Pickler? That fake cow? I would rather watch Carrie Underwood!

I am excited to see Fantasia tonight. I’ve seen her in concert and she’s great. I think she’s better live than on CD.
Bring back Kellie Pickler? OMG that girl had absolutely NO talent and made it as far as she did because of 2 things:
1. Simon Cowell. He liked her and he’s in charge.
2. Hypocrisy. She was in a beauty contest in No. Carolina and gave a speech about rising above your circumstances. Yet once she made it to Hollywood, she played the “dumb blonde” routine to the hilt to get herself farther in the competition.
Good for Fantasia. I look forward to seeing her.
