The Top 10 girls (Alaina Alexander, Antonella Barba, Melinda Doolittle,
Stephanie Edwards, Gina Glocksen, Leslie Hunt, LaKisha Jones, Haley
Scarnato, Sabrina Sloan, Jordin Sparks) perform in hopes of winning
America’s vote on Wednesday, Feb. 28 (8:00-9:30 PM ET/PT) on Fox.
Which of the Top 10 girls will shine? On last week’s American Idol top twelve girls performance show, five divas emerged. While Lakisha Jones shined the brightest, she had some strong competition. Melinda Doolittle, Stephanie Edwards, Sabrina Sloan, and Jordin Sparks all showed that they can really sing. But will their similar musical styles result in a split vote? Could one or more the divas be destined to go home next?
Antonella Barba received some heavy criticism from Randy Jackson and Simon Cowell, but America kept her safe last week. Votefortheworst.com and alleged controversial pictures that have been posted of her online could actually help gain her some votes. Antonella also has a strong fan following of people who are sympathetic to her situation. The combined voting power of people who like to muddle the American Idol results and her true fans could very well put Antonella into the top six. Provided of course that Fox doesn’t either kick her off the show or that she doesn’t quit voluntarily.
Gina Glocksen built a strong fan following both last year and now this year. She also appeared to be the only other female singer capable of singing in the same league as the five divas. Unless she has a major off-night, she should be a safe.
Alaina Alexander, Haley Scarnato, and Leslie Hunt are the three female contestants likely at the most risk. Two of these three will probably be going home next, but they have a chance. Haley Scarnato is the most likely to survive with the backing of a huge Texas voting base, but either Alaina Alexander or Leslie Hunt could take out one of the five divas with a spectacular performance.
