The Top Eight girls (Antonella Barba, Melinda Doolittle, Stephanie
Edwards, Gina Glocksen, LaKisha Jones, Haley Scarnato, Sabrina Sloan,
Jordin Sparks) perform in hopes of winning America’s vote on Wednesday,
March 7 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT). Of the eight remaining American Idol
girls, two have likely already sealed their position as one of the top
Lakisha Jones and Melinda Doolittle have both served up breakout performances that viewers will likely not forget. Barring a complete meltdown by the two, they should easily walk right into the top twelve.
Jordin Sparks, Stephanie Edwards, and Sabrina Sloan have also stood out as excellent singers, but will there be enough room for all three in the top twelve? Look for at least one (and maybe two) of them to not make the top twelve, which will create outrage among the press and American Idol viewers, because they all three deserve to make it based on talent.
Gina Glocksen should also make the top twelve based on talent, but she is not a lock. She will need to deliver another great performance in order to stick around. On the other hand, Antonella Barba doesn’t need a great performance to stick around. She benefits from the combined voting power of her true fans and the vote for the worst contingent which means she is likely top twelve bound.
Haley Scarnato is the American Idol girl at the most risk, but she has a chance. Being from a large state like Texas will likely help her in the viewer voting, and if she has a knockout performance, then she could pick up enough votes from the rest of America to stick around. Post your predictions for which six American Idol girls will make the top twelve below.
