For the fourth leg of the Amazing Race All Stars, teams flew to Punta
Arenas, Chile. In Punta Arenas, teams raced to the Barco Viejo
shipwreck. At the shipwreck teams encountered a detour choice between
“Navigate It” and “Sign It.” In “Navigate It,” teams had to use a
compass to find the Nautilus building. In “Sign It,” teams had to
figure our Magellan’s voyage, then build a sign listing the cities he
visited in order.
Rob & Amber tried to do “Sign It” first, but had to switch to “Navigate It” which pushed them way back in the race. After completing the detour, teams took a charter plane to Argentina. In Argentina, teams raced to Playa Larga beach. At Playa Larga, teams received a clue to take a boat to Isla Redonda (the end of the world). Teams encountered a detour where they had to sort mail at a post office and find a letter addressed to their team. After completing the detour, teams raced to Mastil De Belgrano, which was the pit stop for this leg of the race.
Oswald & Danny arrived in first place and won a trip for two from Travelocity to Maui. Eric & Danielle arrived in second place, Teri & Ian arrived in third place, Joe & Bill arrived in fourth place, Dustin & Kandice arrived in fifth place, Uchenna & Joyce arrived in sixth place, and Charla & Mirna arrived in seventh place.
Rob & Amber arrived in last place and were eliminated from Amazing Race All Stars. Amber said “You know this isn’t the end. It might be the end of the race for us, but the fact that we got to come back and do it a second time is pretty spectacular. We did really, really well the first three legs, and just to spend this time with each other means the world to me.” Rob said “I think the thing that I’m going to miss the most is not being able to compete, knowing that there’s a game going on, and I’m not in the game, but you know at the end of it all, I still have an amazing wife, a great life, a great family. I’m a lucky guy. I’m already a winner.”
