Top Design Winner Is Matt Lorenz
April 11, 2007 10:40 PM by Joe Blackmon
The winner of Bravo’s Top Design is thirty-two year old Matt Lorenz,
who is from Comfrey, Minnesota but currently resides in Chicago. In
the Top Design finale, Matt defeated twenty-six year old Carisa
Perez-Fuentes, who is from Highland Park, New Jersey but currently
resides in New York.
In the final challenge, Matt Lorenz and Carisa Perez-Fuentes designed lofts. The judges called Carisa’s loft “confident, beautiful, functional, and a place they would all want to hang out.” The judges called Matt’s loft “sophisticated” and added that his daughter’s room was “magical.” Ultimately, the judges decided that Matt Lorenz had the top design.
Carisa Perez-Fuentes took her loss in stride. Carissa said “If Matt had not won today, Matt would have left here devastated. I didn’t win today, and I’m not leaving devastated. I’m leaving really damn proud of myself.” After finding out he had won, Matt Lorenz said “I won. I had the top design. Was there any question? Really, people, seriously.”
For winning Top Design, Matt receives a $100,000 grand prize from LendingTree, a brand new 2007 Acadia vehicle from GMC, an editorial feature in Elle Decor Magazine, plus the chance to showcase his design skills at Elle Decor’s Dining By Design, NYC.

I knew that Matt would win. He was the best designer that was on this season.
