American Idol finalist Sanjaya Malakar has become so popular that even
Presidential hopefuls are being asked about him. According to a report
in the Boston Globe, Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Rodham
Clinton was asked during a WOKQ-FM radio call-in what could be done
about American Idol finalist Sanjaya Malakar.
Clinton gave the very politically correct answer of “That’s the best question I’ve been asked in a long time. Well, you know, people can vote for whomever they want. That’s true in my election, and it’s true on ‘American Idol.’”
Of course, Hillary Clinton’s answer doesn’t make it clear whether she is Sanjaya fan or not. Given that ABC News recently conducted street interviews of New Yorkers and found that people knew more about the American Idol contestants than the Presidential hopefuls, Hillary Clinton probably doesn’t want to lose the votes of either the Sanjaya supporters or the Sanjaya haters.
