AOL Latino, the leading bilingual portal for U.S. Hispanics announces
the premiere of a new fashion online reality series “Fashionista,” a
video show searching for the next Latino fashion designer. AOL Latino,
with sponsor Mercury Milan, is enabling young Latino talent to
participate in a nationwide fashion contest, where the winner will
design a red carpet gown for a leading Hispanic celebrity.
Since May, AOL Latino has been soliciting leading up-and-coming designers to submit video clips outlining designs from their fashion collections. To enter, visit AOL Latino’s Tu Vida area at http://www.aollatino.com. The submissions process will end June 10, afterward the Top 20 finalists will be selected.
To help them develop a fan base, AOL Latino will provide the contestants with the opportunity to design and build their own webpage as part of AOL Latino’s latest social networking offering Latino AIM pages. Each individual page will include headshots, photos, bios, updates and blog entries. Contestants will manage the layout and content of their page and will be responsible to update videos and designs.
