Big Brother 8 Cruel Twist Has One Houseguest In Tears

July 05, 2007 08:13 PM by Joe Blackmon

Bb8_danieleOn the premiere of Big Brother 8, the fourteen new houseguests received
their keys to the Big Brother house.  However, only eleven houseguests
initially gathered in front of the Big Brother house.  The eleven Big
Brother houseguests were then sent into the house in groups to claim
their beds.

Inside the house, the eleven houseguests introduced themselves and chatted with each other, while three other houseguests named Dick, Dustin, and Jessica secretly watched them from another room in the house.  Dick, Dustin, and Jessica each had an enemy, rival, or someone they had unfinished business with among the eleven houseguests.  Dick’s daughter Daniele who hadn’t spoken to him in two years was among the eleven, Dustin’s ex-boyfriend Joe was among the eleven, and Jessica’s former high school rival Carol was among the eleven.

In the first head-of-household competition, the eleven initial houseguests were given thirty seconds to find a partner and stand in front of a mushroom in the backyard.  Nick did not find a partner so he had to sit out of the competition.  The competition was called “Mushroom Madness,” and one of the partners sat on a spinning mushroom while the other partner was asked true and false questions about their fellow houseguests.  With every wrong answer, the mushroom spun faster.

Carol was the first to fall off the mushroom, Zach was the second to fall off the mushroom, Mike was the third to fall off the mushroom, and Joe was fourth to fall off the mushroom.  Kail was the last person on the mushroom and won the competition with her partner Eric.  The three hidden houseguests were given the power to select the head-of-household from between Kail and Eric.  Dick, Dustin, and Jessica selected Kail as the first head-of-household because she was the one who suffered through sitting on the mushroom.

After the head-of-household competition, Julie Chen told the initial eleven houseguests that the three hidden houseguests could be one of their enemies, rivals, or ex’s.  Joe predicted that he thought one would be his ex Dustin, who he suggested gave him gonorrhea.  When Dick, Jessica, and Dustin were introduced, the mood in the house quickly changed.  Daniele walked away from the other houseguests and cried after learning her father Dick was one of the three.  After all fourteen houseguests were united, Julie Chen revealed that one houseguest would be America’s Player and take direction from viewers at home.  Eric was revealed as the first America’s Player.

Here we are again, back for another great season. A very good premier–lots of potential drama here and it looks like a fun season.
Let the games begin once again!!1

The only problem with the Showtime feed is that it’s Midnight to 3am Pacific time. I’m gonna DVR it, but as the season goes on, it may not be enough for those that have used the live feeds in the past. I think they’ll still get the subscribers to the 24/7 feeds.

The *after-dark* show was on from midnight to 3 a.m. EASTERN TIME! I watched it last night for a bit. Hence, I’m questioning what you posted about PACIFIC TIME….I’m in Florida and saw it at midnight…just FYI

sorry, I was wrong – I just saw this at another BB8 link (copy/paste below):
Watch for an announcement that BB* will be broadcast from the east coast (Florida) allowing for the live feed to be be in real time for the first time. This will also allow for the competitions to end at a reasonabl eeast coast time as well.

I should have read ahead at the Big Brother link here…sorry…we are seeing the midnight show at the same time, whether it be Pacific or Eastern time….*S*

Looks like an interesting mix of personalities. One question though … if the show is supposed to be live then how did they have all those previews taped to show after the first episode (backyard chess set game, pool scenes, etc.) since none of that stuff would have happened yet and they just entered the house??? Was the first episode NOT live? Thanks for any info you can provide.

I don’t know answer to your question but last night on the Showtime station #2….they had the feed again from midnight to 3 a.m. – so is this going to be EVERY NIGHT on Showtime? It was boring – they are all hanging in the backyard – swimming, chatting, very mundane……the show itself is better than these feeds on showtime.
