So You Think You Can Dance Top Fourteen Dancers Perform

July 11, 2007 08:36 PM by Joe Blackmon

Lauren_neil_jazzFor the top fourteen So You Think You Can Dance performance show, guest
judge Adam Shankman joined regular judges Mary Murphy and Nigel
Lythgoe.  Nigel Lythgoe said that they received a petition with over a
thousand signatures asking that Jessi Peralta be reinstated, because
America didn’t put her in the bottom three girls.  However, Nigel
Lythgoe refused to reverse the decision to eliminate Jessi Peralta.

The first pair of Lacey Schwimmer and Kameron Bink danced the hustle to “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” by Inner Life.  Adam Shankman said “First of all, the showmanship was awesome.”  Mary Murphy said “They were definitely hustling it tonight.”  Nigel Lythgoe told Lacey, “Your technique is superb.”

The second pair of Shauna Noland and Cedric Gardner danced the Mambo to “Flauta Y Timbal” by Tito Puente.  Adam Shankman said “So much better than I thought it was going to be.”  Mary Murphy said “Shauna, look out, now you have a ticket on the hot tamale train.”  Nigel Lythgoe told Cedric, “I was very, very proud of you, congratulations.”

The third pair of Anya Garnis and Danny Tidwell danced a contemporary routine to “Apologize” by One Republic.  Adam Shankman said “Danny, you are unquestionable one of the most beautiful male dancers I’ve ever seen.”  Mary Murphy said “I thought it was tremendous.”  Nigel Lythgoe said “Danny, there’s a little bit of magic that you’ve got to find that makes people want to pick up the telephone.”

The fourth pair of Sara Von Gillern and Pasha Kovalev danced West Coast Swing to “The Rockafeller Skank” by Fatboy Slim.  Nigel Lythgoe said “That’s the magic.”  Adam Shankman said “If you guys audition for me, you’ve got the job.”  Mary Murphy said "It was insane.”

The fifth pair of Sabra Johnson and Dominic Sandoval danced Hip-Hop to “Make It Work” by Ne-Yo.  Adam Shankman said “I thought you guys did a great job.”  Mary Murphy said “This was magic for me.”  Nigel Lythgoe said “I thought that it was terrible that it lasted for such a short time.”

The sixth pair of Jaimie Goodwin and Hok Konishi danced the Waltz to “Angel” by Sarah McLachlan.  Adam Shankman told Jaimie, “Your husband is going to have a fantastic dance at your wedding.”  Mary Murphy said “It really didn’t hit it for me.”  Nigel Lythgoe said “It wasn’t really good enough.”

The seventh pair of Lauren Gottlieb and Neil Haskell danced a Jazz routine to “Night of the Dancing Flame” by Roisin Murphy.  Adam Shankman said “You two are what this competition is all about.”  Mary Murphy said “You guys really pulled it off.”  Nigel Lythgoe said “You executed it brilliantly.”

I thought that Adam Shankman was a little annoying last night. Other than that, another great show!

    This week’s ranking:
Worst)Cedric & Shauna (although they improved a lot)
    6)Hok & Jaimie
    5)Dominic & Sabra
    4)Kameron & Lacey
    3)Danny & Anya
    2)Neil & Lauren (Wade Robson, you’re awesome!
    Best)Pasha & Sara

I think either Pasha, Lacey, or Danny will win.

Pasha has so much charisma and energy and his moves are tight.

Lacey has a great technique and is a well-rounded dancer.

And please will they send Cedric home? He has a good heart but it is always painful for me to watch him dance….if he wants to do other kinds of dancing he needs to train his execution is so awkward. he does his material really well but leave it at that.

Danny is so graceful but needs to work on being more outgoing so people will vote for him more.

Dial Idol has the voting results based on last night’s show:

    1. Sara (she could win this thing you know) and Pasha

    2. Anya & Danny

    3. Lauren & Neil

    4. Lacey & Kameron

    5. Jamie & Hok

    6. Sabra & Dominic

    7. Shauna & Cedric-LAST

A girl will win this year, Nigel will see to that.

Thank heavens Jessie got kicked off. She only made it as far as she did because she has sex appeal. But she has no technique. Sabra blows her out of the water and has only been dancing for 4 years. Try the full length mirror and some ballet classes Jessie!
