So You Think You Can Dance Results – Shauna Noland And Cedric Gardner Eliminated
July 12, 2007 09:10 PM by Joe Blackmon
To kick off the fourth So You Think You Can Dance results show, the
remaining fourteen dancers performed a group dance to “You Can’t Stop
The Beat” from the Hairspray soundtrack. The dance was choreographed
by guest judge Adam Shankman, the director of the Hairspray movie.
After a taped segment of Adam Shankman working with the dancers, Cat Deeley called Sabra Johnson & Dominic Sandoval and Anya Garnis & Danny Tidwell to center stage. Cat revealed that Sabra & Dominic were safe, while Anya & Danny were in the bottom three couples.
Next, Lacey Schwimmer & Kameron Bink, Sara Von Gillern & Pasha Kovalev, and Shauna Noland & Cedric Gardner joined Cat Deeley on center stage. Cat revealed that Lacey & Kameron and Sara & Pasha were safe, while Shauna & Cedric were in the bottom three couples.
Next, the final two couples of Jaimie Goodwin & Hok Konishi and Lauren Gottlieb & Neil Haskell joined Cat Deely on center stage. Cat revealed that Lauren & Neil were safe, while Jaimie and Hok were the final couple in the bottom three.
The bottom six dancers danced solo for their lives in the competition. Anya Garnis danced to “Magic Carpet Ride” by Mighty Dub Katz. Danny Tidwell danced to “Delirious” by Mario Spinetti. Shauna Noland danced to “Zombie” by The Cranberries. Cedric Gardner danced to “Circus” by Kelis. Jaimie Goodwin danced to “Childhood Dreams” by Nelly Furtado. Hok Konishi danced to “Ease On Down The Road” from The Wiz soundtrack.
While the judges deliberated, special guest Hilary Duff performed her hit single “Stranger.” When the judges returned, Nigel Lythgoe said the judges based their decision on not just how the dancers performed tonight but on the entire season. On the girl’s side, Shauna Noland was eliminated. Lythgoe said that the growth across the season that they would liked to have seen was not there and that her personality was not always as strong as they would liked to have seen. On the boy’s side, Cedric Gardner was eliminated. Lythgoe said it was the end of Cedric’s journey on So You Think You Can Dance, but just the beginning of his journey in dancing.

Shauna being voted off was my biggest shock since this series began. I think she was the best female dancer left. Not only does she has great technique, but she dances with passion, and terrific stage presence. I am really disappointed in the judges this season.

What I want to know is who is Lauren related to because she should have been eliminated a long time ago… It appears that they are determined to keep her for the tour despite her lackluster performances… I remember when they told her before she made the Top 20 that they were going to be harder on her because of the impropriety issue and yet all I hear is praise… If it wasn’t for Neil, whose performances continue to surprise me every week, she wouldn’t stand a chance! Granted, she redeemed herself a bit with yesterdays performance, but was it good enough to make up for her boring prior performances? I think not! And that scream she let out during her run upstage at the end was very distracting… She should have left that to Mary Murphy!…

I’m mad about the people leaving tonight but I guess someone has to go. i have a big problem with Hok being in the bottom 3 I voted over 500 times for Cedric and 300 for Hok and after all that they both were in the bottom I knew Cedric would leave they had it in for that baby but shawna she danced her butt off there is no way. All the other girl with the tiger outfit did was shake her a**

The judges has BEEN INCONSISTENT THIS SEASON!!!! One week they say they judge by their technique and uniqueness and then the next week they judge according to how well you have done for the season so far????? Of the girls that dance this evening for their lives , Anya should be the one leaving!!!

Betty, it was pretty obvious that Cedric’s days were numbered once the judges praised his performance on Wednesday, plus the final straw was when they kicked Jesus to the curb two weeks earlier.
I’m shocked that Shauna left, did you see the look on her face ? I think Anya is very likely to be on her way out next week, since Danny’s arrogance is starting to show.
PS, either Lacey, Sara or Sabra will win this competition, since I’m starting to think that Lauren is quickly turning into the Haley Scarnato of SYTYCD.

Why do they have to “dance for their lives” if it doesn’t count anyway???? What is the point if the judges don’t eliminate due to that single performance?? Anya should have been gone….not even close. of course she has shown the most growth….there is a lot of room between her and the better dancers.

I am shocked that Shauna was elminated but yet Lauren is still there. That doesn’t make any sense. Layren needs to be cut next week! Please!
