On Wednesday, July 18th at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT, TV Guide Network will
premiere its biggest original production to date, AMERICA’S NEXT
PRODUCER, which will give 10 producer hopefuls a chance to get their
big break in Hollywood. The 10-episode reality competition series,
produced by Magical Elves, whose TV credits have included “Project
Runway” and “Top Chef,” will take viewers inside the exciting world of
television to reveal the magic behind one of the most fascinating
professions in Tinseltown.
Hosted by former MTV VJ and talk show host Ananda Lewis, the weekly series features a diverse, ambitious group of contestants who will work in teams and individually to prove that they have the creativity, talent and business savvy to become AMERICA’S NEXT PRODUCER. They will work across a variety of TV genres – from scripted to reality television – and must compete fiercely to survive weekly eliminations decided by an esteemed judging panel, including Fox Sports Chairman and CEO David Hill, TV Guide senior critic Matt Roush and a rotating weekly guest judge.
Winner of AMERICA’S NEXT PRODUCER will not only earn bragging rights but will also receive $100,000 cash, a first look deal with TV Guide Network, an all expense paid office in Hollywood, a MacBook, HD monitor and Final Cut Studio editing software.
In the premiere episode, 10 contestants will visit the set of “Last Call with Carson Daly.” Carson and his executive producer David Friedman will introduce the first challenge – producing a 30-second comedic field piece for a late-night TV show. Mr. Friedman will guest judge in the premiere episode.
New weekly episodes of AMERICA’S NEXT PRODUCER will premiere every Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT with a special repeat airing at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. All premieres will be telecast in full-screen without the TV listings scroll.
