So You Think You Can Dance Top Twelve Dancers Perform

July 18, 2007 08:36 PM by Joe Blackmon

Sytycd3_toptwelveFor the top twelve So You Think You Can Dance performance show, guest
judge Wade Robson joined regular judges Mary Murphy and Nigel Lythgoe.
The first pair of Sabra Johnson and Dominic Sandoval danced the Jive to
“I Do The Jerk” by Ryan Shaw.  Wade Robson said “Well, you know what’s
amazing about you guys is that every week no matter what it is it’s
just 100% commitment.”  Mary Murphy said “I thought it was a great way
to start the show tonight.”  Nigel Lythgoe said “You with the possible
exception of Benji and his cousin Heidi are probably the best two
partners I’ve ever seen work together.”

The second pair of Jaimie Goodwin and Hok Konishi danced Broadway to “Mr. Bojangles.”  Wade Robson said “As far as connecting to the character, with both of you I didn’t feel that you connected to this story that well.”  Mary Murphy said “It’s not doing a lot for me either.”  Nigel Lythgoe said “For me, I’m afraid it was a little bit of much ado about nothing from Hok, but Jaimie’s lines and everything were beautiful.”

The third pair of Sara Von Gillern and Pasha Kovalev danced Jazz to “Body Language” by Queen.  Wade Robson said “I really like that number.”  Mary Murphy said “I’m not sure if you’re going to keep yourself out of danger with this number.”  Nigel Lythgoe said “I thought it was very interesting.”

The fourth pair of Lauren Gottlieb and Neil Haskell danced Contemporary to “Let The Drummer Kick” by Citizen Cope.  Wade Robson said “Your musicality was wonderful in this.”  Mary Murphy said “I think what I can say is that I liked it.”  Nigel Lythgoe said “Without question I think it’s the most technically difficult routine we’ve seen tonight, because I didn’t understand it, I’m not sure I enjoyed it.”

The fifth pair of Anya Garnis and Danny Tidwell danced Fox Trot to “It Had To Be You” by Brian Evans.  Wade Robson told Danny, “You really surprised me tonight, man.”  Mary Murphy said “You two still have tickets on the train, and you’re in first class.”  Nigel Lythgoe said “Without question the best Fox Trot I’ve ever seen on this stage.”

The sixth pair of Lacey Schwimmer and Kameron Bink danced Hip-Hop to “Here I Come” by Fergie.  Wade Robson said “Generally, I felt it was bit soft.”  Mary Murphy said “It’s a mixed bag for me tonight on this number.”  Nigel Lythgoe said “Did you bring it Kameron?  No, I don’t think you did.”

Dial Idol has Sara and Pasha going home, those poor kids are SCREWED tonight.

It looks like Lauren will squeak by into the Top 10 tour.

NO WAY is both Sara and Pasha going home. That makes no sense as the judges can still pick and choose out of the bottom three girls and guys.

IF Lauren and Neil wind up in the bottom three, I would have to think the judges will send Lauren home. For the guys, my guess would be Neil or Kameron. (Voting might have kept them out of the bottom though). They need one out of those two for the tour and they’re popular with the girls. Hok won’t last much longer but they want him for the tour also so he’s safe tonight.

As for who SHOULD be going, I would boot Kameron or Hok and Lauren, all of whom are really talented, good-looking kids, but they can’t quite measure up to the other dancers. They sure are fun to watch though. (And Lauren is one of my faves, BUT…) Don’t envy the judges tonight.

Since Wade Robson was a guest judge, he couldn’t choreograph a routine. That’s why the show wasn’t as good as other episodes.

    This week’s ranking:
Worst)Hok & Jaimie (Hok might go home)
5)Neil & Lauren (Lauren might also go home)
    4)Kameron & Lacey
    3)Pasha & Sara
    2)Dominic & Sabra
    Best)Danny & Anya

The judges sure missed the boat tonight. They should have voted off lauren based on past performances. How can you one week say you are going to keep someone by uniqness and the next week say you are going to save whoever dances their brains off in the solo and one week say they are not choosing based on the solo but by how they have done in all the weeks. Lauren is the weakest and certainly Anya has outperfomned Lauren. Are the judges keeping her because of favortism? I don’t get it.
