Going Tribal In Anuta

August 24, 2007 12:03 AM by Joe Blackmon

Bruce Parry sails to the remote island of Anuta in the South Pacific to
live with 250 Anutans. The Anutans inhabit what the Western eye would
consider to be an island paradise filled with turquoise sea, white
beaches and palm trees.

But the men and women of Anuta work hard to maintain daily life — the men fish daily for sharks and marlins and dive for reef lobster. The women cultivate every patch of available land with taro, manioc and bananas.

Going Tribal airs on the Discovery Channel on Friday, August 24, 2007 at 10 PM ET/PT.
