Survivorman Goes Dog Sledding
August 24, 2007 12:02 AM by Joe Blackmon
Les Stroud puts his dog sledding skills to the test, taking a team of
Labrador Huskies into the Canadian wilderness during one of the most
dangerous times of the year – the end of winter when the weather is
most unpredictable.
Days of driving the dogs and very little food take their toll on Stroud. But it’s the weather that ultimately forces him back to civilization. The trip is cut short when the safety crew shows up to tell him the lakes are melting, cutting off access to anyone in or out. Unless everyone is airlifted out by helicopter, both the safety crew and Les will be stranded.
Survivorman airs on the Discovery Channel on Friday, August 24, 2007 at 9 PM ET/PT.

So….what happened to the dogs? He said they’d be okay, but I didn’t see them get airlifted out!

Ummm, yes. The people were airlifted out – they’re fine. AND they were there by choice. I want to know what happened to the dogs!

I just got word back from Ciewer Relations at Discovery. The dogs were met by their owner further down the trail and are safe and sound. Frustrating that Les didn’t take the 3 seconds at the end of the show however to state:
“and don’t worry about the dogs, they were retrieved by their owner further down the trail and are perfectly safe.”
Still a big Survivorman fan, but also a little disappointed in Les.

I watch every Survivorman show and watched this show on The Science Channel tonight. I was very disappointed that they did not mention what happened to the sled dogs after Les Stroud let them go chained-up.

I just watched the episode. They must have changed it because as the dogs ran off into the distance there was a message on the screen that said the dogs were met up ahead and were fine.
