Carrie Underwood To Perform At 41st Annual CMA Awards

Several new acts were announced today for the 41st Annual CMA Awards,
including American Idol winner Carrie Underwood.  The 41st Annual CMA
Awards will air live from the Sommet Center in Nashville on Wednesday,
November 7 from 8:00PM to 11:00PM ET on the ABC Television Network.

After winning CMA Female Vocalist of the Year and the Horizon Award in 2006, Underwood is back in 2007 with three nominations for Female Vocalist, Single for "Before He Cheats," and Music Video of the Year for the same song, directed by Roman White. Songwriters for "Before He Cheats" Josh Kear and Chris Tompkins were nominated for Song of the Year. Underwood’s next album project, "Carnival Ride," will be released on Oct. 23.

Additional artists will be added to the lineup and announced at a later date. A total of 12 CMA Awards in the following categories will be presented– Entertainer of the Year, Single of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, Vocal Group of the Year, Vocal Duo of the Year, Musical Event of the Year, Musician of the Year, Music Video of the Year and the Horizon Award — which is given to the artist with the most significant creative and career growth.

"The 41st Annual CMA Awards" is a production of the Country Music Association. Walter C. Miller is the executive producer, and Robert Deaton is the producer. Paul Miller is the director.
