Dancing With The Stars Results – Josie Maran Eliminated

September 26, 2007 08:13 PM by Joe Blackmon

Josie_maranOn the first Dancing With The Stars 5 results show, host Tom Bergeron
kicked things off with a recap of the men’s performance show.  Len
Goodman said “All of us judges felt that this was without doubt the
best start to any season.”  The judges selected Sabrina Bryan and Mark
Ballas to dance an encore of the Cha Cha Cha.

After the encore, hosts Tom Bergeron and Drew Lachey revealed that the first two couples that were safe were Sabrina Bryan & Mark Ballas and Jennie Garth & Derek Hough.  Country music star Dolly Parton made a special guest appearance to perform “9 to 5.”  After Parton’s song, Bergeron and Lachey revealed that Helio Castroneves & Julianne Hough and Albert Reed & Anna Trebunskaya were the second two couples that were safe.

Special guest Tony award-winning Savion Glover tap danced, and Dolly Parton returned to perform “Better Get To Livin’” from her album “Backwoods Barbie.”  In a comedy segment, Kenny Mayne went on a quest to find the origins of dance.  Bergeron and Lachey revealed that the third couples safe from elimination were Melanie Brown & Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Cameron Mathison & Edyta Sliwinska.

After a commercial break, Bergeron and Lachey revealed that Jane Seymour & Tony Dovolani, Wayne Newton & Cheryl Burke,  Marie Osmond & Jonathan Roberts, and Floyd Mayweather & Karina Smirnoff were all save.  The bottom two when the judges’ scores and the viewers’ vote were combined were Josie Maran & Alec Mazo and Mark Cuban & Kym Johnson.

As the two couples waited on stage, Bergeron announced that Josie Maran & Alec Mazo had been eliminated from the competition.  When asked if she had anything to say to anyone, Josie Maran said “Well, I guess, thanks for being honest.  Is that what it is?  And thank you for this amazing experience, and thank you Alec.  You’re an incredible teacher, and this has changed my life.  I have the dancing bug, and I’m going to dance alone.”

Too bad for Josie. She may be the first to go but she was very humble in leaving the show with grace. At least, she does not have to suffer more weeks of consistent practice. Last year was another model that was first eliminated. Another year of bad decision (of offering to celebrities who cannot dance at all).

I so totally love Alex Mazo and I had hoped that he would be pair with anybody but a model. Female model appear not to have a big fan base and end up being eliminated first. Josie danced better than Wayne Newton. However, everyone was nice to him eventhough his dancing was very limited. I think he should have been eliminated first.

Wayne Newton sucked! Obviously, the model wasn’t amazing, but she was a lot better than Newton! The decision was completely subjective!

i tooootally agree with u guys about josie, although not great, dancing circles around wayne. I have a feeling he might be the next “jerry springer” on dwts. Note to dwts contestant -wannabe’s: If u do not have a fan base, save the money and take a vacation.

I agree with everyone. Wayne Newton will be the Jerry Springer of this season. This is still mostly a popularity contest.

I think you are all wrong. Josie was the worst dancer and america got it right. This is a strong cast and I don’t believe there is room for subexcellence.

You’re discounting the fact that it is Cheryl Burke with the HUGE fan base. It isn’t Wayne’s fans from the old-folks home voting, but horny males across the country voting to see more of Cheryl!!! Do you think it’s a coincidence that she has made it to the final show of all three seasons that she’s been on?

This show is about votes, who receives the most, not about who receives the least amount. If the “star” doesn’t receive a lot of votes (or more then the person next to them) then it is a matter of weeks before they are “cut”.

Wayne is trying to make a come back because he has lost his voice and thinks this will give him a kick start again. I think he should stick with his ranch and horses. He can’t dance!!!! He had his day in the spotlight.
Mark Cuban was so much better than him and then to be in the bottom two couples.

For once, I agree with ya all. Newton was awful and should have gone. He barely moved and his facial expressions looked “Botxoed” at best.
Elio and Sabrina rocked but its only the first week.
And sorry, I think Marie Osmond ranks at the bottom. Neither her nor the Jet’blacked haired Newton can move out there!! Flip it next week and vote out these two.

I have a question for the Judges. How is it that you were brutal in your comments about Josie, but let Albert’s hip shaking and bare chest distract you from his horrible footwork? Also what was he doing with his knees. I think it was the funky chicken!

I almost got my first elimination prediction correct. I wanted Mark Cuban to be eliminated because I felt he was too slow. Oh well, there’s always next week…

To Me mark Cuban was not slow, he just did not have a massive wow factor with his dance.

Anybody catch Josie Maran on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night. She didn’t sound so humble during the interview, especially her comment about cutting off her leg. Check it out on Jimmy’s website.

Poor Wayne looks grotesque certainly botoxed and can’t dance he should have gone before Josie

When is it going to dawn on everyone that votes are being cast for the beautiful female pro dancers NOT for their celebrity partners.I predict Juliana Hough will be the winner with her partner whathisname.Anyone else agree or am I a cult of one ?

So many viewers feel the show has to be rigged. When they voted Sabrina Bryan out and Marie Osmond in people are very disappointed. Sabrina was so much better than Marie Osmond.I think you should check the votes again. The mormons are taking over the show.
