Nashville Pulled From The Air

September 26, 2007 11:28 PM by Joe Blackmon

After two weeks of low ratings, it comes as little surprise that Fox
has pulled the reality series Nashville from the air.  Fox had
originally announced an episode of Nashville called “Red and Blue” for
this Friday.

The episode was to feature Rachel becoming upset over Mika landing a performance spot at a local showcase, Chuck beginning his promotional tour, and Lindsey helping Clint sort out his true feelings.

Fox announced that Nashville will be preempted for this Friday night, but the show will be rescheduled for a later date.  Instead of Nashville, an encore of the premiere of K-ville will air on Friday.

When Nashville was first announced, it looked as if the show would air after The Next Great American Band.  While Friday night is usually a difficult night for new TV series, The Next Great American Band is from the producers of American Idol and that fact alone should attract viewers.  Unfortunately for Nashville, Fox elected to launch the series before it would have the benefit of a Next Great American Band lead-in.
