Survivor China Results: Ashley Massaro Voted Off

September 27, 2007 08:25 PM by Joe Blackmon

Ashley_massaroAfter the Zhan Hu tribe returned from tribal council, Dave took charge
as the leader and gave direction on building a fire pit.  On the Fei
Long tribe, Amanda, Todd, and Aaron formed a secret alliance.
Jean-Robert came under fire for not doing his share of work, but
Jean-Robert revealed that it was part of his plan to come across as
lazy initially so people would notice when he contributed later.

At the reward challenge, three tribe members had to try to push giant balls across their opponents’ goal lines.  The challenge turned into a muddy wrestling match.  CBS editors had to work overtime blurring images as tops came off and pants came down.

Fei Long won the challenge, and for their reward, they received fishing gear and a fishing boat.  In a special twist, Fei Long also got to kidnap one member of the Zhan Hu tribe.  Fei Long decided to kidnap Jaime.  Probst gave Jaime a note and told her to read it in a private spot.

When Jaime read the note, it told her that she should select one member of the Fei Long tribe to give a sealed tube with clue to a hidden immunity idol.  Jaime gave the clue to Leslie.  The clue said “What is thought to be hidden may sometimes be seen.  Though their eyes are not, yours must be keen.”  Leslie shared the clue with Todd and asked him to team up with her to find the hidden immunity idol.

Back at the Zhan Hu tribe, Dave started giving direction to and talking down to Ashley, which led to a huge argument between the two of them.  Before the immunity challenge, Jaime returned to the Zhan Hu tribe.  At the immunity challenge, the tribes had to smash a large Chinese puzzle log through two tribe colored walls.  The tribes then had maneuver the log through a maze and use it to ring a gong.  Fei Long won the immunity challenge.

Dave apologized to the tribe for losing his footing and letting the tribe down during the challenge.  Because there was such conflict between Dave and Ashley, other members of the tribe discussed voting one of the two out.

At tribal council, Ashley accused Dave of going off on rants and talking down to and patronizing other tribe members.  When Jeff Probst asked Ashley what the criteria was for her vote, Ashley said that she was voting for Dave.  After the vote, Jeff Probst revealed that Ashley was the second person voted out of Survivor China.

After tribal council, Ashley Massaro said “I think I got voted out because of a personal conflict with our leader, and Dave is going to show them the reason that he shouldn’t be in control, and I guarantee you that I see him on the flip side way soon than he imagined.”

At least they got Ashley out of the game as soon as possible. Wouldn’t it have been something if she had lost on the first show?
