The Singing Bee Returns For The Fall
October 02, 2007 12:05 AM by Joe Blackmon
The Singing Bee was one of NBC’s biggest hits of the Summer, which has
earned the show a spot in the Fall season. The Singing Bee returns on
Tuesday, October 2, 2007 from 8:00PM to 8:30 PM ET. Former NSYNC star
and Dancing With The Stars contestant Joey Fatone will return as host,
alongside house band Ray Chew and the Groove and the dancing Honey Bees.
In the Fall season, various musical guests will help kick off certain shows. Slated to appear are Toni Basil (October 2) in a "One Hit Wonders" theme marking the premiere episode; Village People (October 16); Barry Manilow (October 23) in a special installment dedicated to unforgettable love songs; Ray Parker Jr. (October 30) in a Halloween-inspired show; and The Bangles (November 13). Additionally, on October 9, the show will spotlight the classic music of Paul McCartney and John Lennon. Finally, the December 4 installment highlights everyone’s favorite television theme songs.
Musical guest appearances aren’t the only changes in store for The Singing Bee. Brand new karaoke-style games will be unveiled to challenge players and test their skills. Also, all winners will now be allowed to return for the next show and defend their crown – with no limit to the number of times they can repeat as champion and retain The Singing Bee trophy. A new and improved set will also be unveiled.
"The Singing Bee" is created and produced by Juma Entertainment, LLC and The Gurin Company. The executive producers are Phil Gurin (NBC’s Miss Universe franchise) and Robert C. Horowitz (Superbowl’s Greatest Commercials Top 40 Countdown).
