Dancing With The Stars Results – Jane Seymour Eliminated

November 06, 2007 10:17 PM by Joe Blackmon

JaneseymoureliminatedOn the seventh Dancing with the Stars results show, Tom Bergeron
informed viewers that Marie Osmond wasn’t on the stage tonight because
her father had passed away.  Samantha Harris added that when the
judges’ scores were combined with the viewer vote that Marie Osmond
& Jonathan Roberts were safe in the competition.

After a review of the top six performance show, the judges selected Melanie Brown & Maksim Chmerkovskiy to dance an encore of the Paso Doble.  After the encore, Samantha Harris talked to Marie Osmond’s dance partner Jonathan Roberts backstage.  Roberts said “When I talked to her earlier, she just said that you know she called her dad that afternoon and told him that our quickstep was dedicated to him, and we know he watched it, and it was a good way to say goodbye.”

Special guest LeAnn Rimes performed “How Do I Live.”  After the performance, Bergeron and Harris revealed that the next couple safe in the competition was Cameron Mathison & Edyta Sliwinska.

In the return of DanceCenter, Jerry Rice and Len Goodman joined Kenny Mayne in a review of the performers.  In a reference to Len Goodman’s controversial comment about the President from the performance show, Kenny Mayne asked about Helio Castroneves, “Len, he’s the first Brazilian to be in the competition.  Does that mean anything?”  Len replied “Doesn’t mean anything to me, no.”  Kenny Mayne also picked Sabrina Bryan to win the competition, and Len Goodman and Jerry Rice pointed out that she was already eliminated.

Special guests the Rock Steady Crew performed as part of Macy’s Stars of Dance.  LeAnn Rimes returned to perform “Nothin’ Better To Do.”  After a review of Sabrina Bryan’s shocking elimination last week, Bergeron and Harris revealed that Melanie Brown & Maksim Chmerkovskiy were safe.

As Jane Seymour & Tony Dovolani, Helio Castroneves & Julianne Hough, and Jane Seymour & Tony Dovolani waited on stage, Bergeron announced that they weren’t going to reveal a bottom two this week.  Harris announced that Helio Castroneves & Julianne Hough were safe.

Then, Bergeron revealed that the couple eliminated from the competition was Jane Seymour & Tony Dovolani.  Jane Seymour said “I’ve had the best time of my life, and I can’t believe what Tony got me to do.  You have to understand I have a fused spine, herniated disc.  My doctor doesn’t even believe I’m doing this, but the biggest thank you.  The biggest thank you of all has to be to the fans, because they’ve just been unbelievable.”

Jane was lovely, classy and elegant, but there are better dancers out there. Good choice for tonight’s elimination.

Jane brought a certain element to the competition and it is sad to see her go. Jane is a good dancers and has been fun to watch. As previously noted, other dancers have performed better than Jane so the elimination was justified. Thanks Jane

I hope Marie Osmond is next. I am sorry that she is so good to everybody, a nice lady, america’s sweet heart but she needs to go. Everybody dances better than her.

I’m not shocked that Jane is gone, besides she had too much bad luck on the show, the way to eliminate bad luck is to get rid of those people having the bad luck, if that is the case Marie is next.

I think a third component panel of amateur dancers should give a third of the vote. This would help weight the voting toward it being a dance competition and not a popularity vote, or leaving it up to the viewers who may or may not vote. I have been dancing for 15 years, not professionally, and I have been very upset when Master P. stayed on when it was clearly his time to go and other good dancers had to leave, and when Mario didn’t win last season, when he was obviously the better of the two. This season, Sabrina should still be in it. I think a 3rd panel of amateur dancers would provide a nice offset to the voting system, by probably voting on the dance itself, rather than technique (that is up to the judges), and how much they feel they are vicariously getting from the dance. I know there are some dances, I can’t not move along with them and almost feel as if I am there. Just a thought I wish I could pass on to the producers of the show.

Jean…Absolutely right about Master P and Mario. Unfortunately, this is Reality TV at its finest and TV = Drama. The best doesn’t always win (Mario) and I think to add even more judges would add to the controversy even though it might be a more fair system. Even in season one Kelly was so far ahead of John it wasn’t even funny, but somehow John manages to win a “dance off”. Jerry Rice coming in second? That was a joke. I think Drew would have trouble competing in this season but the voting system does keep things lively!

VERY DIFFICULT WHEN IT GETS TO THIS POINT. ALL DANCERS ARE AWESOME AND THAT MEANS THAT EACH WEEK AN AWESOME DANCER WILL BE SENT HOME. SOMEONE HAS TO TO GO. THATS THE NAME OF THE GAME. GOTTA VOTE.

Everyone – I thought Jane Seymour was a wonderful performer – she did great and not even “for her age”. Please age is not an issue there are many great tap dancers and others like Fred Astaire and Bill Robinson who danced into their 70′s. I know some of you are too young to know this – but it is a fact. So forget age she was classy and I wish her well. However, my real point is that everyone complains about these people, be for real – these people are entertainers and they have money they really don’t need to win a contest. I need to win a contest! I have “No Money”! This is a show for entertainment value, these people will go on into their rich lives and enjoy! This show doesn’t hurt their success.

You are right Jayne, besides, I don’t think age or ability should always be a factor, it’s at the point where the most shock happens, It’s about who is deserving at this point. And for those still talking about Sabrina, vote for Jenni instead.

Cameron and Edyta did a lift in their first dance and no one said a thing and was not reflected in their score. Why????
