Dancing With The Stars Results – Cameron Mathison Eliminated

November 13, 2007 10:10 PM by Joe Blackmon

CameronmathisoneliminatedOn the eighth Dancing with the Stars results show, hosts Tom Bergeron
and Samantha Harris reviewed the dances from the top five couples
performance show
.  The judges selected Helio Castroneves & Julianne
Hough to dance an encore of the Quickstep.

Special guest Gloria Estefan performed "A Bailar" from her latest album, 90 Millas.  After Estefan’s performance, Bergeron revealed that the first couple safe was Marie Osmond & Jonathan Roberts.

Jimmy Kimmel and his parking lot security guard answered a letter from a viewer about how Tom Bergeron told the difference between his two shows, America’s Funniest Home Videos and Dancing with the Stars.  Special guest Fatima Robinson performed for Macy’s Stars of Dance.

After a segment on the background of the professional dancers on Dancing with the Stars, Gloria Estefan returned to perform “Conga.”  As the four remaining couples waited on stage, Bergeron and Harris revealed that Helio Castroneves & Julianne Hough were the second couple that was safe.

As the three remaining couples waited on stage, the judges talked about each couple.  Bergeron and Harris revealed that Melanie Brown & Maksim Chmerkovskiy were the third couple that was definitely safe.  Bergeron announced that the couple with the lowest combined total and eliminated from the competition was Cameron Mathison & Edyta Sliwinska.

When Bergeron asked if there was a part of him that was going to like the time off, Cameron Mathison said “Honestly, I don’t know what I’m going to do with the time off to be frank.  Not one single bit of me wanted to go home.  I mean clearly this has been a great competition.”

i dont think it was that you did right to take cameron and edyta off the show i think that you should take maria off because she is not good cameron is the best i think that people made a mistake

I wasn’t too surprised Marie wasn’t in the bottom two. I was kinda surprised, however, that Cameron got eliminated instead of Jennie. When Marie was declared safe, I thought for sure Jennie was a goner.

    Kathy,

First, learn to form sentences. Second, who is “you?” ABC doesn’t read these… neither do the judges.

Cameron and Marie are equal on dancing skills. Marie trumps him in personality though. That is why she stayed.

Honestly, I hope Marie gets a daily talk show or some gig out of all this because she is so pleasant to watch and listen to! She could brighten up the gloomiest Monday morning. Even with all of her trouble, she still brings in sunshine. It would be perfect for Elizabeth to leave the View, and for Marie to take her place. It would save that TRAINWRECK of a show. I’ll bet Baba Wawa wishes she had Meredith and Star back now.

    I do like Joy however.

My picks: Jenny goes home next, then Marie, and for the final two, Mel B beats Helio in a squeaker!

MelB beating Helio? I doubt it. That brazilian hot banana is going all the way!

Who ever chose the music for Mel”s tango monday night must have been out of their minds. No wonder they
the results were negative. Judges speak up. That was not music for a tango.

I think Melanie should win because it had already won many men in this competition, it’s time now for a woman to win!

  7. Carolyn Says:

Mel B should when the competition because shes the best dance of whos left. Plus since the spice girls are getting bak together the spice girls fans are coming out and voting for her. SPICE GIRLS ROCK, GO MEL.

Cameron should have stayed & Jenny voted off, I feel people are voting for her partner.I’m tired of her pouting.

I THINK THIS IS BULL, THERE IS NO WAY THAT MARIE IS BETTER THAN CAMERON. PEOPLE SHOULD QUITE FEELING SORRY FOR AND VOTE FOR THE BETTER DANCERS.

I agree I think if they were to vote just on the dancing the right one would of went home. Marie is not a good dancer.

Tom Bergeron isn’t great but he is better than MARIE. She should have gone home a long time ago. I know she has that “All-American bubbly personality” but this is a DANCING competition not a variety show.

I am shocked that ET would stoop as low as to endorse one dancer…Marie…courtesy of Donny. In previous seasons they were fair in assessment; even Harry’s wife did not spend every moment promoting her husband. She called out his flaws as well as his achievements. She was not bias. Today they devoted a good portion of their 30 segment showing Osmond’s home videos and Donny turning on the tears.

Marie is still there because of her father’s death…her dancing last nigh was great for a stripper but not for this competition. Tired of listening to Donny flog his sister. Jenny’s teary eyes are a pain and her dancing was as boring as Marie’s last night. Cameron should have stayed on until after Marie & Jenny were voted off. The voters let down the quality of next week’s show. Mostly I am fed up listening to ‘poor Marie’…she made it through Oprah ok didn’t she? Thanks go to Cameron for not complaining about his grueling schedule.

How does everyone keep forgetting that the best dancer doesn’t always win? Mario! I don’t have a clue for this year’s winner but I think the final three will be Helio, Mel, and (drum roll), Jennie only because she was never in the bottom two for some reason. I don’t think Marie will pull off another miracle next week.

Marie is a good dancer and she deserves to remain in the competition. She is forty plus and has eight children. So many 20 year olds wish they could have the agility and stamina of this wonderful woman.

Yah! Glad Cameron got voted off because he stinks. Marie and Jennie are next! Love Helio & Mel B. Either one would be a good winner…Too bad Sabrina got voted off so soon because she was great. Jane Seymore stinks too!

  18. Flower Diva Says:
    November 14th, 2007 at 4:37 am

As long as the public is allowed to vote these shows will remain popularity contests rather than talent contests. Case in point, when Sabrina was sent home….it never should have happened. Marie stayed last night because she has a HUGE fan base, it has nothing to do with her dancing talent. She has improved and is looking great, but Jenny should have gone last night. If we want to judge the talent take the viewers out of the equation.

  19. Brenda Thiel Says:

People really amaze me. I thought this show was about dancing. Good grief, if I was Marie I would have handed the Cheetah girl my place the week she got kicked off. I didn’t even watch it last night because I knew the giggly PERFORMER would be voted safe by the voters.I feel sorry for the last remaining few couples. Why try to win a dance competition when the quality is popluarity?

  20. Ann Flagg Says:
    November 14th, 2007 at 8:41 am

I am so sick of Donnie and Marie. This is not a dance contest it is a popularity contest. As long as you have a huge fan base you will stay even if you are a lousy dancer like Marie is. I seen her fainting a thousand times. its ridiculous. I won’t be watching Dancing with the stars again. Very disappointed in the whole thing. She has ruined the whole show with her complaining and whining. Enough is enough. Everyone was so good then she came along.

  21. Kelly Vides Says:
    November 14th, 2007 at 9:04 am

I feel that Marie should have got voted off. She isn’t that great of a dancer. I thought that Cameron should have stayed. They just feel sorry for Marie cuz her father just died. I think they should recount the votes.

I think it will come down to Mel B and Marie, with Mel B winning in a very close race of course.

  24. Cindy Says:
    November 14th, 2007 at 12:10 pm

do the voters know that its a dance contest not a popularity contest. Come on people Marie needs to go she SUCKS – I can’t believe Cameron and The Cheetah girl are gone. Stop feeling sorry and start voting for the dancer. I don’t even know if I can watch the show next week it makes me sick.

  25. Jamie Says:
    November 14th, 2007 at 12:16 pm

This is a DANCING COMPETITION, not a popularity contest. If the public isn’t watching the dancing, why don’t we just let the stars sit on stools and let the public vote. Apparently, the dancing isn’t important to the public. Otherwise, Sabrina Bryan would still be there and Marie would be back home with her 8 kids.

  26. Colin Says:
    November 14th, 2007 at 12:46 pm

Don’t be ridiculous. Cameron’s dance was stilted and forced. Marie Osmond’s dance was interesting and exuded personality and showmanship.

Feel sorry for her? Why? She’s wealthy, has a great family, and 8 awesome kids. Feel sorry for yourself since Marie obviously doesn’t need – or want – your sympathy.

No, Sabrina should not be gone – not by a long shot. No, Marie won’t win because she’s not the best dancer, but deserves to be here based on the dancers so far.

come on now, spice gal is already a professional dancer is that fair??? NO!!!!

  28. anonymous Says:
    November 14th, 2007 at 1:16 pm

I was probably the only one shocked that Jennie and Derek were in the bottom two, but unless her next dance is the waltz, I think she could actually win it. Just keep voting for Jenni and Derek, and Helio and Julianne everyone. They are the only deserving ones. We don’t need anyone beating them. So regardless of how they do, vote for those two no matter what. If there were a vote for the worst for dancing with the stars, I would nominate Mel and Maksim.

  29. Terry Says:
    November 14th, 2007 at 1:50 pm

I don’t think anyone who has a dancing background should even be allowed on the show, I thought it was great that Sabrina got voted off and am waiting for Mel to be next. Helio should win, he is a great dancer and has a great smile to go with it, AND he had no dancing background-Go Helio!!! If they continue to have “dancers” go on the show I don’t know if I will even watch it next year.

I am in mourning today. I will miss Cameron. He really did work very hard and took his dancing seriously. And his comments are always positive and always praises his fellow dancers. After seeing him on Dancing, I think that he is really a good hearted person with a lot of energy and perseverence. I like him even more now than I did. Hats off to Cameron for all the hard work and the dance skills he accomplished in the past months.

  31. Miguel Says:

Jenny and Derek elude personality and are quite talented. Hope they win it all. Cameron wasn’t all that bad, but I think he tried to get some extra votes by opening his shirts, so that bothers me. Sort of glad he is gone.

I agree, Jennie should have gone and hopefully next week will be her week to go. Just heard that Marie’s son has gone into rehab, hope he gets better but it just guaranteed her another week in the competition. I hope the finals come down to Mel & Helio as they are the best dancers, much prefer both of them to Sabrina. I’ll be giving all my votes to Helio but wouldn’t be unhappy to see either him or Mel win. As a long time All My Children fan I will miss Cameron, but at least I can still see him almost every day.

People should realize from the beginning of Dancing with the Stars that is will always be a popularity contest. I don’t think the general public can separate talent from popularity. When it gets down to the last two – I think (only at that point) do people vote for the most qualified. I’ve seen bad dancer last while good/great dancers fall to the side. It really is a shame that the voters don’t know the difference.

maria should be HOME with the eight kids she is always saying she has! Think about all the time she is out selling her dolls or promoting herself?? Not much mothering going on there! No wonder her poor son is in rehab! You would think this would make her quit the show to be with him but she is too full of herself to leave the limelight and be a mom for once!

I used to watch ice skating championships and was very dismayed over the lack of expertise shown at the judging..and so this is as well..dancing with the stars..it’s like so many have said..is this a popularity show or is it real talent..Marie may be a great person but she is not a good dancer..I know zilch about dancing but even I can see that..

To answer the questions to what song Fatima Robinson performed to, since everyone seems to ignore them, I’m pretty sure it is by Mya, I just don’t know what the song is called. I’m still trying to figure that out myself.

  40. Anonymous Says:

Well, next week is semifinals, and the only way to guarantee a Helio and Julianne vs Jennie and Derek finale is if Jenni and Derek don’t have to waltz next week. But if they do the waltz well, they should win it all.

I agree with some of these comments about marie I think that she wants for people to feel sorry for her….. she needs to improve her dancing skills if she wants to win…and Donnie needs to be fair about everyone in the competition…(not just about his sister)…..Marie this is a dancing competition!!!!

I think Helio is gonna win the competition he is an awesome car racer and has proven to be an awesome dancer as well….Mel is an entertainer with a dancing background…. so it’s not fair… and I feel that she should not win based on her stuck up attitude!!!! I have nothing to say about marie…she should just give up….

I just read s a poster’s comment, and i would have to agree with her! The best dancer, never wins!
but I am hoping that M&M wins this one..for the ladies!
