Kathy Griffin, who won an Emmy Award for the reality TV show Kathy Griffin: My Life On The D-List, is starring in her sixth original comedy special on Bravo. The title of the special is “Kathy Griffin: Straight To Hell,” which pokes fun of the controversial acceptance speech that she made after receiving her Emmy.
The special actually is the first special since her 2007 Creative Arts Emmy Awards acceptance speech and will take place in her hometown of Chicago. According to a Bravo press release, Griffin will be dishing it right back at her critics.
Some excerpts from the special provided by Bravo are included below.
Kathy Griffin dishes on her audience. “Where are my,straight guys? Okay, where are my straight guys who were dragged here by the wife or girlfriend? I’m sorry – I don’t speak your language. I speak fluent gay.”
Kathy Griffin dishes about her encounter with Martha Stewart while guest hosting on The View. “She brings in three of her assistants, who she makes wear uniforms — a salmon shirt, khakis and a kerchief.” This encounter inspired Griffin to start a new dress code for her assistants. “Tom, Tiffany and Jessica – uniforms! Something to really show some respect for the company — maybe a thong, a tutu and pasties.”
Kathy Griffin dishes on Dr. Phil. “He’s not even a real shrink. I think he’s a botanist!”
Kathy Griffin’s dishes on her politically (and religiously) incorrect act. “I have my handbasket all decorated.”
Kathy Griffin: Straight To Hell airs on Thursday, November 29 at 9 PM ET/PT.
