Skateboarder (and “teen heartthrob”), Ryan Sheckler will be coming back on Tuesday, Jan. 8 (just before “Rob & Big”) to “grind” his way through a second season, juggling full-time skating with normal teenage stuff back home in Southern California.
Ryan’s about to turn 18, and will soon be graduating from high school. He’s getting more active in his business life, learning the ways of the corporate world. All while planning a move out on his own (which will be tough for him, given how close he is with his two brothers). Plus there’sjust the regularteen hangin’-out stuff, not to mention looking for Miss Right, all while trying to balance his skateboarding career.
MTV.com has big plans for plugging Life of Ryan through its website. Viewers can get caught up on last season’s shows, all while listening to the songs featured in the episodes. They’ve updated the cast bios and added more photos, so viewers can see what Ryan and the gang have been up to since the end of season 1. There will also be blogs and chats…and even Ryan’s own personal blog. It’ll be a reality skater junkie’s dream come true.
Oh, and check this out! For their die-hard skater fans and Ryan Shecklerwannabes, MTV will be unveiling a new virtual hoverboard park, where fans can show off their skater moves “in-world.” There will be half-pipes, ramps, jumps, and rails. Celebrity hoverboards and limited-edition clothing can be purchased in-world and weekly contests, missions, and events will be held. This will be a cool online place to hang out — so cool, in fact, cast members of Life of Ryan plan to hang out there themselves. The virtual skate park will be at www.thevirtualskatepark.vmtv.com.
Life of Ryan premieres Tuesday, January 8, 2008, 10PM ET on MTV. Then, don’t forget to catch Rob & Big (read Reality TV Magazine’s article on Rob & Big here).
