Cat Deeley, the host of So You Think You Can Dance, will be hosting the countdown to 2008 live from New York City’s Times Square on New Year’s Eve Live on FOX. New Year’s Eve Live airs on Monday, December 31 from 11PM to 12:30AM live ET/tape-delayed CT/MT/PT.
As host, Cat Deeley will recall some memorable pop culture moments from 2007, as well as introducing live performances by some of the year’s hottest musical artists. Deeley will be joined by Talkshow host Spike Feresten, who will conduct “man-on-the-street” interviews. Deeley and Feresten will report live as the world-famous New Year’s Eve ball makes its descent into Times Square.
Executive producer Phil Gurin said: “We are pleased to have the talented and gorgeous Cat Deeley return as the host of our New Year’s Eve Live celebration. In addition to fantastic live performances by some great musicians, we’re also going to have a hilarious correspondent in Feresten who will offer his insight and reports from the best spot in Times Square to catch all of the action.”
So You Think You Can Dance winner Sabra Johnson and finalists Dominic Sandoval and Hok Konishi will also appear on the special.
In addition, American Idol 6 winner Jordin Sparks and American Idol 6 runner up Blake Lewis will perform live from Times Square.
Jordin Sparks recently released her self-titled debut album. During the New Year’s Eve Live special, Jordin Sparks will perform her new single “Tattoo.” Jordin Sparks was the youngest contestant to ever win American Idol.
Blake Lewis recently released his debut album “Audio Day Dream.” During the New Year’s Eve Live special, Blake Lewis will perform “Break Anotha.”
